Two weeks had passed since that eventful day. Nothing truly returned to how it used to be, and each passing day brought more change. Sensei would leave soon, and Kivotos would revert to the way it was before he arrived.

Kivotos had functioned just fine without Sensei before. So when he would inevitably leave us, I believed things would eventually go back to normal.

A school brimming with the youthful energy of its students.

That was Kivotos.

Whether Sensei was here or not, Kivotos would never cease to function.

At least... that's what I wanted to believe.

"I will be on SCHALE duty for 5 hours, so do what you can without my supervision. Do your best."

" Right! Leave it to us, President Hina!"

After receiving my command, the Prefect Team members who had accompanied me to SCHALE marched away in unison, resuming their patrols within the restricted area.

It was following Sensei's announcement that the Prefect Team, under my command, chose to assist the GSC students in preventing unauthorized entry into SCHALE after its lockdown.

Normally, I wouldn't have been allowed to enter either. But that day, I was on SCHALE duty--- my only chance to have Sensei within my grasp, if only for a fleeting moment. Because deep down, I knew all too well that this might be the last time I'd get to spend with him...

Before that inevitable day would finally arrive.

"It isn't like me to offer someone a gift like this, but I hope Sensei would accept it..."

A gift bag on my right hand was something I planned on giving to Sensei as my parting gift for him. Something that would remind himself of me whenever he would use my gift.

I would be lying if I said my heart wasn't feeling all jumpy... The face he would show me upon receiving my gift was something I looked forward to see, and just thinking about it would widen the grin on my face even more.

"Sensei... I got you a necktie just like I promised you back then..."

A few months ago...

" Say what?! You did all my work while I was away?! You didn't have to do that, Hina; you could've just waited for me to return before we could work on it together!"

"Pipe it down at the office, Sensei. I only did it because I wanted to."

" No, because I felt bad leaving Hina on duty all by herself, you see! And when I came back like this, I can't help but be ashamed at myself..."

" Sensei left because a student asked for his help, right? There's no helping it."

" B-But still..."

"If you're that bothered about it, then I'll forgive you by praising me for my hard work..."

Ah... that was a little too bold, even for me. I couldn't hide the blush spreading across my cheeks after saying such spoiled words.

But I couldn't help it. Sensei was feeling bad for leaving me alone, and I had to do something to ease that guilt. Yeah... he probably wouldn't think too much about what I said.

"Thank you so much, Hina! There's no one else in Kivotos like you!" he praised me warmly. Then, his hand gently lowered to my hair, his fingers softly ruffling it. The warmth of his touch was so comforting; in that moment, it felt like all the hard work I did for him was worth it.
