Awakening from her well-deserved rest, Renkawa Cherino let out a comfortable yawn, rubbing her eyes as she prepared for the day ahead. She scratched her head, then grabbed a fancy, curled mustache from her bedside table and carefully positioned it below her nose, where it clung as if it belonged there.

Striding confidently to the mirror, she studied her reflection with a series of satisfied nods, clearly taking pride in her early-morning presence.

"As expected of me," she muttered with a self-assured grin and a shrug.

On her bed lay her phone, which had been vibrating persistently throughout the night. Cherino, however, hadn't noticed a thing, having enjoyed one of the best nights of sleep in recent memory.

As she ran a brush through her hair, she picked up the phone to check the notifications. Her eyes widened at the sheer number of missed calls and messages. Over a hundred--- most of them from Sashiro Tomoe, a fellow member of the Red Winter Office.

" President Cherino, are you okay? I heard something happened to the students on the trip with Sensei. Tell us where you are now and we'll come get you!"

" Why aren't you responding?! Oh, it's already 1 A.M, you should already be asleep during this hour. But still! We're so worried! Please use some miracle to wake yourself up!"

" Are you awake yet...? .... Of course not, idiot! President Cherino is a heavy sleeper, there's no way she'd wake up during this hour! Ah, I know! I'll just try calling Sensei instead!"

" Sensei's not responding either?! What is happening there?! Are you guys really okay?!"

" The GSC is refusing to tell us where you guys are! This is insanity! Don't they know how worried we are for you?! They must be hiding it for damage control, a lot of students from all schools are desperate to find where you guys are right now, and I'm sure the GSC wouldn't want that..."

" ...are you still not awake?"

" President Cherino, pleaaaseeeeeeeeeeeeeee~~"

- Messages from 5 hours ago. -

"Yes."

'Yes.' was the only response Cherino gave to the hundred desperate messages Tomoe had sent her. It wasn't because she was taking lightly to her distress, but it was all because she hadn't read a single line of her messages. During to the trip, Tomoe had always constantly messaged and called Cherino to check on her, and she came to the point where she had grown tired of responding to her messages.

Thinking it was another ruse from Tomoe, she merely skimmed through her messages and just sighed in the end before putting her phone aside.

"Now, what kinds of fun events have you prepared for us on our last day, Comrade?" Cherino murmured to herself with a grin.

After dressing herself, she stepped out of her room and headed straight to the lobby. Her stomach rumbled, urging her toward the eatery for a much-needed breakfast. But as she entered the lobby, she stopped in her tracks. Several students sat there in complete silence, their faces clouded with an uncharacteristic solemnity-a stark contrast to the joy and laughter that had filled the air just last night.

It almost looked like none of the students in the room had managed to sleep a wink.

"Is everyone having their periods at the same time? That's... wild," Cherino muttered to herself, genuinely taken aback by the sight.

Nearby, Koyuki and Reisa stood clutching their folders and pens, just as puzzled as Cherino by the dreary mood filling the space. Despite being part of the thick, uncomfortable atmosphere, they were here on a mission, and awkwardly prepared themselves to proceed.
