Alyssa POV
I waited in our spot as Micaela went to the bathroom. Music blared out of the speakers and a group of guys I suspected were drunk were flirting with a bunch of girls.
"Definitely drunk," I murmured as one of them kissed a teacher.
"Excuse me, Miss King," A proper voice said from behind me.
"Madame Mawful! Um..hi!" I said in a surprised voice. "Micaela...er..Miss Pine will be back shortly."
"It is you i'm looking for. I have your new schedule," Madame Mawful told.
"New schedule? Madame, I don't understand. I've been trying very hard in my classes and it is only the first week of school-"
"No, no, it is nothing like that. In class, Miss Pine told me she would quit my advanced drama class if I didn't invite you in. You will be moving your Creative Writing class with her and you will not be needing to take your other acting class," Madame Mawful informed me.
"Are you joking?" I exclaimed.
"I don't joke, Miss King, now I have work to do," Madame Mawful said.
"Of course, Madame," I told.
"It is my personal opinion that you do not have what it takes. I hope you prove me wrong. I doubt you will."
I had a feeling I wasn't supposed to hear that last sentence, but lucky for me the music had been turned down so the teacher could yell at the drunk student who kissed her.
Madame Mawful left, and I excitedly slipped my new schedule in my pocket. I heard a noise in the direction of the bathroom and realized it was laughing.
Micaela was walking out of the bathroom, her skin green. She held her head as high as she could.
Somebody threw a witch hat at her, and the crowd laughed. I saw a smile flash on and off Micaela's face.
Bravely, she picked up the hat and shoved it on her head (after looking to make sure there was nothing in it, of course). Her way over to me was blocked. There was only one path, and it led straight to the dance floor.
Micaela stared at it with fear. She scanned the crowd and spotted me trying to push through the people. I was almost there when Riley and Rhiannon grabbed my arms.
"Don't spoil the fun. Let the Wicked Witch do her thing," Riley hissed.
I watched as Micaela went to the center of the floor, took a deep breath, and started dancing. I do not know whether or not she was intentionally bad. Her dancing was pretty close to Elphaba's in Wicked.
"The only Wicked Witches around here are you two," I snarled and broke free from Riley and Rhiannon's grips.
When I finally reached Micaela, she stopped.
The crowd of people held their breaths, waiting to see what I would do.
"May I cut in?" I asked.
Micaela gave me a small smile and stepped back, motioning that the floor was mine. I stepped forward and began "dancing" like my best friend just had been. Micaela joined me.
"If she's doing it, it has to be cool!" Someone yelled and one by one everyone joined. Even some of the teachers. Riley and Rhiannon huffed and turned away.
After the song ended, everyone went back to dancing normally, and Vanessa and Rose came up to us.
"That was pretty, what you did," Vanessa said.
"Yeah, thanks," Micaela smiled.
"You are welcome. Now can we go home? I'm beat," I groaned.
Micaela laughed. "Sounds good to me! See ya, Nessa. Bye Rose!"
"Bye guys!" Rose exclaimed, and Micaela and I left the building.
"Thank you," I told Micaela.
"For what?"
"For asking for me to be in the drama class with you!" I said.
"How do you know?"
"Madame Mawful gave me my new schedule while you were at the bathroom. I will be switching to your Creative Writing class!"
"Yay!" Micaela cheered.
"Hey...um...why is your skin green?" I asked nervously as I opened our dorm room.
"Oh, that," Micaela mumbled and let her skin change to normal. A L was written in green lipstick on her forehead.
"Who did this to you? Was it Riley and Rhiannon?"
Micaela nodded and sighed. "I tried rubbing it off, but it won't come off!"
"Hmm. It must be waterproof. I know how to get it off!" I chirped.
"You do?" Micaela seemed to instantly cheer up.
"Yeah! Come here!" I set to work getting it off, and soon, her forehead was back to normal.
"There were some good things about tonight," Micaela said once we were both changed in our pajamas and sitting on our beds.
"Like what?"
"You got your new schedule before classes tomorrow, people seem to like me better, and I got this new witch hat!"
"I never thought of you as being optimistic," I sighed.
"Just because i'm a witch, doesn't mean I have to act like everything is against me," She shrugged.
"You're my witch," Alyssa smiled.
"Am not! I am my own person!" Micaela huffed.
"No, you are mine! Maw ha ha ha ha!"
"Am not!"
"Are to."
"Am not!"
"Are to."
"Am not."
I shot off my bed and wrapped my arms around Micaela, giving her a tight hug.
"Are to," I whispered.
I smiled as Micaela threw her arms up in defeat. What did you think?
