Is it real?

The next day, I enjoyed my time in Doctor Darel's class. I was liking her more and more every second. Alyssa was right, she was my Doctor Dillamond.
I was surprised when she asked Alyssa and I to stay after class.
"Girls, i'm guessing you have heard of the musical Wicked. Is that correct?"
Alyssa and I exchanged smiles. "Yes."
"What if i were to tell you that you both were the real life Elphaba and Glinda," Doctor Darel said seriously.
It took a moment before we both bursted out laughing.
"Haven't you two noticed the similarities between your lives and the lives of the witches in Wicked?" Doctor Darel asked.
"Wait, you are serious?" I realized. "Doctor Darel, i can't possibly be Elphaba. Yes i have green skin sometimes, but i don't have magical powers."
Doctor Darel sighed. "Let's look at what you do have, shall we? You have green skin, a sister whose nickname is Nessa, a best friend that used to hate you, or pretended to, and Madame Mawful, the modern Madame Morrible, asked you to join a class so you could meet Stephen Schwartz, who is as famous as the Wizard. And you, Miss King, you used to be "friends" with brats until your newfound friendship changed that, you have Glinda's personality, your best friend was accepted into the class you wanted, and you have recently turned good."
I thought for a moment before standing up. "This is absurd! If this were Wicked, then Madame Mawful is just tricking me."
"Maybe she is," Alyssa whispered.
"You believe this nonsense?"
"What if it isn't nonsense? The evidence is definitely there," Alyssa pointed out.
"I'll prove it to you both. I am going to go to that class and meet Stephen Schwartz. Then you'll see I was right," I snapped.
I reluctantly sat down when Alyssa put her hand on my arm. With a sigh, i asked, "If this were Wicked, would it be the book or the musical?"
"It could be both," Doctor Darel answered.
I looked at her, part of me believing those words and part of me dismissing this unrealistic idea. Is having green skin not unrealistic also?
I immediately stood up and walked out. Alyssa called after me, and in no time at all, she was walking in sync beside me.
"Why did you walk out like that?" Alyssa wondered.
I took a deep breath. "What if she is right? What if this is Wicked? And what if it is based on the book? I don't....i don't want to die for real."
"Oh, Elphie," Alyssa soothed. "This may be all fake. She could be trying to trick us."
"But she's still Doctor Dillamond. I don't think she would do that," I said.
We sat in silence before i got up and walked to my dorm. Alyssa followed me.
When we got there, i sighed and sat down at my desk.
"What are you doing?" Alyssa asked.
"We have a writing assignment for Creative Writing due Friday. I want to at least get an idea going," I informed.
"Oh, I have that, too," Alyssa remembered.
I stared at the empty sheet of notebook paper. Ideas are always flowing around in my head, but now that i need them, I have no clue what to write.
Eventually, I decided on writing about a girl who was crippled and could not walk. I wonder where i got that from.
"Before I forget, there is a back to school party tonight. You are going," Alyssa commanded.
"Do i have to?" I groaned.
"Yes! And wear something nice!"
Soon, two o'clock came around, so i gathered up my things and headed to class with Alyssa.
After Creative Writing, I pondered it. Should i go to the advanced drama class? It almost isn't fair; I didn't even apply.
With a sigh I stepped into the class. Madame Mawful smiled at me as soon as I entered.
"Welcome!" She shouted from the large stage. I realized we were in an auditorium.
At first, I was shy, but then I walked towards the rest of the students with my head held high.
I have to admit, the class was actually enjoyable, and my voice blended in with the other students'. There was something missing, though. Someone.
Finally, three thirty came around, and I was last to leave.
"Madame Mawful!" I called.
"Oh, yes, Miss Pine? Did you enjoy the class?"
"Madame Mawful," I began and took a deep breath, "Do you really, as you say, NEED me in this class?"
"Yes, Micaela, more than you know," Madame Mawful told.
"Then I will stay on one condition. You let Alyssa King into the program," I said.
"What?" Madame Mawful exclaimed. "You can't just-"
"Let her in or i'm walking," I announced.
"Why I..I...Fine. I'll let her into the program," Madame Mawful agreed.
With a nod of my head, I walked out of the auditorium and never turned back.
Alyssa was waiting for me outside. "What took you so long?"
"Oh...nothing," I said with a smile.
"Did you like the class?" She wondered as if she were living it through me.
"Yes," I responded.
I decided not to tell her about me asking, well demanding, that she be accepted.
"Glinda, can you promise me something?" I asked when we walked into Carter Hall.
"Of course," Alyssa answered.
"Promise me that no Fiyero will ever come between us," I told.
"I promise. Do you?"
"I promise. I don't want a Fiyero. I just want my best friend to always be my best friend," I admitted.
"And she will be," Alyssa promised.
"That's the best promise of all."
