Warm steam rose up into my tired face from the cup of herbal tea in my hand.
"No coffee," Alyssa informed. "It's bad for your voice."
I leaned over the cup and lazily took a sip from the mug.
"Did you get any sleep last night?" Alyssa questioned.
"I had trouble falling asleep. Then, I kept waking up," I shrugged. "New York City is so bright at night."
I rose from my chair and looked out the window. People hurried to the subway on their way to work. Tourists bustled back and forth, trying to see as much as they could. Broadway loomed in the distance. Could this really be my home some day? Of course, just because I got the part didn't mean I would move onto New York City, but if I did, I would be replacing Carrie St. Louis in the traveling cast; therefore, I would always be moving from place to place. How would I complete my education? What about Alyssa? Could our friendship still survive? Suddenly, being a famous Broadway star so young didn't seem too exciting.
"What are you thinking about?" Alyssa wondered, padding over to the window and looking out on the busy city.
"Oh...nothing," I whispered, not wanting to admit it. I picked up my mug and took another long sip of the warm tea. I sighed as the warmth spread throughout my whole body.
"We should go," I said, glancing at the clock.
"You're right," Alyssa realized. She sounded as nervous as I felt.

Alyssa POV
We decided to walk to the theatre. Micaela was quiet the whole way there. I know she said she was thinking about nothing, but there is something she didn't even realize. Before she left the window, her skin was pale green. She was obviously worried.
At the sight of the theatre, nerves settled in and my thoughts melted. (Ahh references)
We piled into the room, along with other young women preparing their voices for their auditions.
The two of us sat down in two seats near the exit. People went in and came out, still looking nervous. In this audition, instead of them calling us, they told us whether or not they got it right after everyone performed.
"Alyssa King," A woman called.
Micaela gave me a look that was a mix of good luck and pure nerves
I breathed a deep breath and followed to woman into the room. Inside, I saw Carrie St. Louis (the Glinda that was being replaced), Stephen Schwatz, and Winnie Holzman. But that wasn't all. Sitting there with her hair perfectly styled, was none other than Madame Mawful.
"Madame Mawful?" I couldn't help but whisper when I got onto the stage and was presented with a microphone.
"I've moved up in the world," Madame Mawful told me proudly.
I didn't have time to say anything else before the music for Popular began, and I focused all of my energy on singing and acting.

As you can see by the title, this chapter has been split into two parts. Before I publish the second part, I want to know your guys' thoughts.
Who do you think will get the part of Glinda, or if either of them even will?
Who do you think should get the part?
I won't update again until I have a couple of comments.
