"How are we all doing tonight?" I shouted to the crowd. I stepped out of the stage door followed by Alyssa, a bright smile on her face, just like after every other show we've performed.
"I woved your show, Mawia," A young girl told me shyly, wonder filling her eyes. "You are my idol."
My heart practically burst. "Aw. Thanks. Do you want a picture?"
"With bof of you, pwease. And your audogwaphs," She said.
"Alyssa," I called. She came over, took one look at the girl, and almost started squealing from the adorableness. I pulled them both in for a picture. After her mom got it, I signed the name Maria Darel on her Wicked playbill.
I continued walking, wishing I could stay but knowing I had to get through this crowd and eat before my other show later tonight.
"Maria Darel! I love you," One girl exclaimed as I walked up to her. I smiled. It had been so long since anyway, besides Alyssa and Vanessa, that is, had called me Micaela Pine. After I was supposedly dead, I had to change my name, so Maria Darel it was. The only other people who knew Doctor Darel's first name were in jail.
It was a wonder how no one recognized me, but I had a guess that Alyssa's father was paying my old fellow classmates to keep quiet. Yes, Alyssa's father was no longer completely against me. He had grown to like me after our plight in New York City.
As for my own father, he seemed almost...proud of my success. He always went on about how Vanessa's children would go on and on about their aunt Elphaba. It was slightly annoying how he still brought through how much he loved Nessa, but I accepted it.
After the stage door, Alyssa, the person who plays Morrible, and the person who plays Nessa and I all went out to a Subway that was down the street, where we ran in to a few more fans. When we were done eating, we headed back to the theatre to prepare for our second show.

Micaela/Maria POV
A couple of days later was our day off. Alyssa and I had both been looking forward to and dreading this day. With my best friend in the passenger seat o my car, I pulled up in the parking lot of the New York jail.
"We're here to see Mawful," I told the man at the front desk. "I actually don't know her first name. She never told us."
The man typed in her last name. "Patricia Mawful. Only one visitor at a time, please," The man informed us, and Alyssa nodded at me to go first.
I followed the man into a room that was split down the middle by glass and a desk on either side all down the row. Phones allowed communication to the other side. I sat down in the chair and waited. Finally, the person I had been looking for walked in and sat down across from me, a look of disgust and discomfort on her face.
"Hello, Morrible," I greeted.
"Why do you keep calling me that?" Madame Mawful huffed. She truly looked awful. After so long in jail, she seemed to crumble physically. She wasn't nearly as intimidating as she used to be, and her hair had whitened, her skin wrinkled.
I smiled. "Why do you think, Morrible? I guess you are wondering why I'm here."
By the look on he face and the quietness on the phone, I knew I was right. "I wanted to rub it in your face. I succeeded, Morrible. You lost. I'm famous, you're in jail."
"I loathe you," She whispered darkly.
"The feeling is mutual," I told her and put down the phone.
I then walked out of the room and back down the hallway to where Alyssa waited. I gave her a nod, and she walked nervously towards where I had just been. When she emerged through the door, she seemed more relaxed. I knew not to ask what they'd talked about just like she wouldn't ask me. After a fairly quiet car ride, we arrived at our shared apartment.
"Nessa!" I exclaimed once I had opened the door.
"Micaela! Alyssa! Surprise!" Nessa laughed.
"Auntie Witch! Auntie Lyssa!" Nessa's twin girls squealed, running towards us. (A/N: In the book, Fiyero's children call Elphaba Auntie Witch. In this case, I just used it as a nickname.)
I hugged both of them then my sister.
"Where's Josh?" I wondered. Josh was Vanessa's husband.
"Hello, Maria," Josh teased, refusing to call me by my actual name like always. He appeared from the kitchen with a sandwich in his hand. "I hope you don't mind. I got hungry."
I laughed. "It's okay. You always get hungry."
I hugged him while Alyssa hugged my sister. We all then sat down on the couch. Alyssa proceeded to tell Vanessa about her new boyfriend, so Josh turned to me.
"How did the jail visit go?" Josh asked.
"It went well, I guess," I shrugged. "It's been so long since I've seen her."
"Micaela, we really need to get you a boyfriend," Vanessa announced.
I stayed quiet, not wanting to give away my secret.
"What? No arguing? No objections?" Vanessa asked curiously.
"Oh my Oz!" Alyssa blurted out suddenly. "You like someone!"
"Wha....?" I countered quietly.
"You like someone! This is the best day of my life! Who is it? Who is it? Who is it? Who is it?" Alyssa asked, begging and pleading like a puppy.
"I'm not telling you his name, but he plays in the pit orchestra for Wicked," I admitted.
"Hmm," Alyssa said thoughtfully. I could tell she was going to start guessing names. "James?" Told you.
"Not telling you," I responded in a monotone voice.
"Andrew?"
"Not telling you."
"Matthew?"
"Not telling you."
"Thomas?"
Each time I answered with the same voice, until...
"Carson?"
I thought the slight hesitation before I said, "not telling you," was going to give me away, but neither Vanessa nor Alyssa seemed to notice, and more names were thrown at me. I glanced over at Josh, and that one glance sent a thought through my head. Oh great. He knows.
"Let's go for a walk outside," I suggested.
"Okay!" Alyssa perked up like a dog and ran to the door eagerly. Vanessa raced after her along with Belle and Bethany, Nessa's twin daughters.
"Don't worry, I won't tell," Josh teased.
I rolled my eyes. You may be wondering how Vanessa and Alyssa didn't figure me out considering they are the boy experts. You see, Josh and I are a lot alike. I'm not kidding. A LOT. It's kind of creepy. We bonded in a brother-sister way almost immediately.
"Hurry up!" Alyssa called impatiently.
"Hold your horses!" I shouted back and then turned to Josh. "Thanks, Josh. I really appreciate you not going all fangirl on me."
"You're welcome. So, who is this Carson?" Josh wondered. I could see the hint of curiosity in his eyes and knew he wasn't prying.
"He plays bass guitar in the pit. He's a Christian, and we've talked on a couple of occasions."
"Does he like you back?"
"Are you kidding me? I have no idea!"
"Why didn't you tell Alyssa about you liking him?" Josh asked.
I looked down. "Because...I guess...I have always been the one in our friendship that never had an interest in boys. I feel like that was one of the things I was known for. I never liked anyone and I was terrible at love advice. Not to mention, there was a limit to how much I cared when Alyssa talked about the guy that she liked. It's this image that I feel like I have to uphold."
Josh thought for a moment. "Micaela, it's alright. If you like someone, you like someone. It's part of life. Alyssa and Vanessa will be happy for you no matter what happens."
"What about you?"
"Oh no. With your dad so far away, someone has to be the over-protective father in your life," Josh joked.
"Seriously? You are the one that suggested this walk!" Alyssa yelled.
"We should probably go..." I began.
After grabbing our jackets (it was in the middle of the fall), we journeyed to Central Park. Belle and Bethany played around with Josh while the three girls stayed and chatted. Soon, Alyssa joined Josh and Vanessa and I got caught up on the things going on with dad.
"It's getting late. We should go home," I called to the other people in our group.
We rounded the kids up and began our trudge back home. When we were close to home, I something burn my skin and I heard a sizzle.
"Ow," I muttered. I glanced up at the sky. Sure enough, another rain drop hit and burned my face. "Oh shoot."
"Everybody run! Protect Micaela as much as you can!" Alyssa shouted. I could tell that she was making a game out of my pain. Such a nice friend.
I arrived in our apartment with a few burns and two giggling little girls. Belle and Bethany obviously found running from the rain fun even if it didn't make a difference to them.
"We should get home before the rain picks up too much," Vanessa said regretfully, grabbing the purse she had left when we went out on our walk.
"Alrighty then. I'll see you soon, I hope," I told her and gave my sister a hug.
"Goodbye, Josh. Don't get into too much trouble," I told my brother-in-law, raising my eyebrows at him.
I hugged both of the little girls goodbye, and soon the family was out of my apartment and on their way to their car. I turned to Alyssa and smiled.
"It's just us now," I whispered.
"The good girl."
"And the green girl."

YAAAAAAAAAYY!! Cheesy ending, I know! Oh well! There it is! It is seriously over this time! I truly hope you enjoyed it. Goodbye, Ozians and Witches.
