Clare: Marcus! ................ Marcus! Come on get up you'll be late. [Looks at her phone for time] we'll both be late, let's go!!
Marcus: I'm coming mom!! [Rushes out, then comes back in to get his bag pack. He looks at his phone halfway under his pillow and pushes it in. He runs out the room].
Clare: taking so long, you want to be late for your first day?
Marcus: wouldn't be so bad it's just a first day after all
Clare: [hits him at the back of his head and he flinches] don't be a smartass!
Marcus: language mom [laughs]
Clare: only I get to say that. Get in the car.
She drove to school...........
Woman: [at the entrance] Mrs. Brown [stretches out her hand for a greeting with a smile on her face].............
Clare: it's Miss actually [receives the greeting]
Woman: ah my apologies Ms. Brown, I'm Mrs. Hilson but you can call me Bonnie. I'm the student affairs councillor here I'm in charge of anything involving students. This is a very competitive institution we provide the best education possible to our students. We have a rule book which Marcus has to look at constantly so he doesn't give the ridiculous excuse of forgetting the rules; students tend to act smart in a dumb way really.
Clare: I assure you my son is well behaved you'll have no issues with him.
Bonnie: right. That's every parents statement, anyway at age twelve going into the final class of junior year I didn't see a transfer form for [reads from the file] Marcus Blakeston Brown just his admission and registration.
Clare: transfer?
Bonnie: yeah. Surely his previous school should have sent it.......
Marcus: I was home schooled
Bonnie: really??
Clare: yes [smiles widely] yes he was. Ummm you see...........
Marcus: I didn't want school
Clare: right, very embarrassing but I assure you Bonnie my son's very smart and disciplined
Bonnie: okay. I'll update the forms just ensure next time he gets to school early enough.
Clare: yes of course.
Bonnie: that'll be all unless you have questions?
Marcus: no, no
Bonnie: great [shakes her hand] welcome to Wildebright Academy family Ms. Brown
Clare: [receives greeting] thank you Mrs. Hilson.
Bonnie: alright Mr. Brown let's go.....
Clare: can I just get a minute please? [Squats to his height] alright kiddo, I'll see you in a few hours think you can handle yourself without me?
Marcus: of course I can. I'll miss you though
Clare: [hugs him tightly and peaks his forehead] aww I miss you already.
Bonnie: come along now [he goes with her]
Clare: [remains for a minute to watch him walk away then leaves in a rush]
She quickly walks to her car and starts the engine; her phone rings....
Clare: [connects it to car Bluetooth] hello?
