They went out to the grocery store and clothing store to buy supplies and more clothes for Marcus.
Marcus: how do you know what size to pick out?
Chris: I asked her what size you fit into.
Marcus: you know [they walk out of the store both carrying the stuff] for some reason I forgot that out there, there are still good people around. The city has good people they are just afraid of what Kingson would do.
Chris: whoever who that guy is I hope he gets what's coming for him.
Marcus: me too.About an hour later they arrive back home.
Marcus: can I ask something?
Chris: shoot.
Marcus: why do people kill others? Like why are there bad people around I don't get it?
Chris: others lived hard and it caused them to hate people, others have no means of earning any money hence turn to life of crime and some just are selfish pricks that want everything to themselves so they do whatever it takes to grab from people.Marcus: it's a global system so I guess the politicians involved are the grabbers.
Chris: basically yeah. Okay now.............. okay do you want to roll with me to the studio or you want to stay back?
Marcus: I've spent enough years just staying put. I'm coming.
Chris: cool.Marcus sits in the production room as he watches and listens to Chris sing. After about an hour he leaves the music booth.
Man: you gotta raise the key on this note [looking at a paper with musical notes] and here bridge it.
Chris: okay cool, cool I got it. Oh dang forgive my manners. Umm David this is Marcus my um my family and Marcus meet David my good friend and producer.
David: nice to meet you Marcus.
Marcus: nice to meet you too David.
Chris: alright let's do this. After some time Clare walks in.
Clare: David what's up?
David: hey Clare you good? How's school?
Clare: with that tone really? Well school is great alright. Marcus [she hugs him] you okay?
Marcus: I'm good. You look tired.
Clare: it's been quite a day trust me. Abby and Trish say hi.
Marcus: oh thanks.
Chris: oh hey Clare.
Clare: hey you [they pecked].
Chris: you're back early.
David: surprisingly [laughs].
Clare: ha, ha David. Yeah I really needed some rest and I finished everything for the day already.
Chris: you got time to stay?
Clare: Marcus do you want to leave now or we can stay awhile?
Marcus: I know you're probably pretty tired so it's only fair we leave.
David: so thoughtful.
Clare: yeah unlike you two. Alright Chris you will find us, David have a nice um whatever this is.
David: oh please Clare just go. Bye.
Clare: bye.
Marcus: bye David.Clare: how was your day?
Marcus: great real good. We chatted, had good food, went shopping and he can really sing I love his voice. No wonder you get all red.
Clare: [laughs] how you all like to gang up on me.
Marcus: it's kinda fun actually I also don't get why. How was school?
Clare: ahhh school is tiresome. I was on call all day and had a class later.
Marcus: you were on the phone all day? Damn that's a lot of people to be talking to [thinks for a second] ............the whole day?Clare: [laughs] what? No, no, no, on call means like attending to patients all day.
Marcus: so why not call it work or something?
Clare: well it is work it's basically the same thing except in the medical field we call it being on call. Since basically you're talking to people all day like sort of being on an actual call I guess that's where they referenced it from. [Thinks] yeah, maybe just a wild guess.
Marcus: I see. It sounds cool. I'm sure you make a great doctor seeing as you are already a really nice person.
Clare: aww thank you Marcus that's so kind of you.About to leave.....
David: so Marcus what's his story?
Chris: what do you mean?
David: like is he your cousin or something?
Chris: it's complicated mahn, bottom line here is he's my family that's it.
David: okay, okay.
Chris: same time next week mahn.
David: alright see you then.Later in the evening.
Clare: hey just in case I don't hear my alarm kindly just wake me
Chris: I know, I know you don't have to keep saying it all the time.
Clare: okay, good night [pecks him on the cheek and turns to sleep].Some minutes later......
Chris: hey babe, are you still awake?
Clare: about to sleep.
Chris: can we talk a little?
Clare: can't it wait till tomorrow?
Chris: no, plus tomorrow by the time I'm up you'll be gone.
Clare: fine [she turns to face him] what's up?
Chris: okay listen. It's not that I don't want him here was just wondering what kind of a plan you had for him.
Clare: him who?
Chris: Marcus of course. You're aware it's a whole person we have in there like a whole kid. If we're not careful there can be serious consequences that can occur. Whatever it is I need to hear it so we have the same story.Clare: yeah, yeah I get you. Okay I don't have anything yet [sighs]. The thing is obviously at the time I got him out my plan was to take him to family but ummm.........
Chris: he told me about his family not liking him and his mom.
Clare: ahh okay. Then after I learnt that I thought of social services but he said no he didn't want that.
Chris: yeah I mean those people are good, it's just foster families don't always go well so yeah that's not a good place.
Clare: exactly but I just put it out there just in case he would be okay with it. Anyway so I figured while I'm still thinking I could move some place where there are no prying eyes around eventually something will come up. Just haven't gotten time to sit down and think.Chris: I see. Okay so ummmmm today Marcus and I were talking then when I heard about his family problems I realized his got no one and no place to go. We are all he has, so it's okay for him to stay here for as long as he needs I'm cool with it. I already told him that.
Clare: oh okay. Thank you so much Chris.
Chris: so if ever we don't find some place he is comfortable staying in, he stays with us.
Clare: okay [smiles and kisses him].She turns back to sleep.
Chris: hang on.......
Clare: isn't that all?
Chris: now the more sensitive part is left. What is he to us? Today David asked and I just said he's family and that it's complicated.
Clare: that's a good cover we'll be using that.
Chris: fair but what about our actual families what do we say to them?
Clare: right! [Sits up] damn I didn't think of that. My parents are crazy people this won't sit well most definitely. Wow you really thought this out real good.
Chris: I mean what would.........
Clare: don't do that please, you're killing the moment.
Chris: and you've killed my moment of short fame. It's silent for about a minute.
Clare: okay, to others he's family and it's complicated then to family I'll say he's your cousin. What will you say to your family?
Chris: I won't say anything they barely step foot into school so.... yeah.
Clare: right.
Chris: I'm mostly here so when you go home on breaks I'll stay with him, then later have David stay with him.
Clare: okay that could work, great okay [she gets out of bed].Chris: where are you going?
Clare: at this point my sleep just went away. I'm going to study, you sleep.
Chris: wow, Okay.
