MARCUS (ongoing)

Chapter 3

For about two years he continued to get drugs for Kingson from Pralito. The two men had a beef with each other so they would always fight over stacks and packages with Marcus being in the middle of all of it. He'd get beaten up on a regular basis whenever he got caught stealing from Pralito or if he arrived with less packages. Every night he'd sit by his window look at the stars and cry wondering how much longer he would have to go through this and whether or not he'll be able to one day leave. Amelia would always remind him about looking up for hope which he did every night but it didn't work.

Manny: lil man you're one brave little thing sitting around here and getting packages actually stealing [laughs] you're certainly learning fast. I actually didn't think Kingson's plan would work but damn. Soon enough, you'll start shooting..........
Marcus: what plan?
Manny: [just looks at him, smiles and walks away]

Marcus: [walks to Kingson] Kingson, Manny was telling me about a plan that you have made for me
Kingson: [smoking] oh yeah. I aim to make you one of my guys when you're older, but first I gotta teach you some basics like how to steal and sh**.
Marcus: [smiles] I look forward to it.

All the guys laugh.
Kingson: [rubs he's head vigorously while smiling] what'd I tell you boys? Eventually he'll learn to appreciate all this.
Marcus: [smiles] can I leave now?
Kingson: go on, man.

He goes towards Amelia who had been watching what was happening outside.

Amelia: see, for as long as you tell him what he needs to hear, he doesn't do anything.
Marcus: he said he's teaching me how to steal, he's using the beef he has with Pralito to tutor me.
Amelia: beef? No, those two are long-time friends I'm sure it was all Kingson's plan to teach you to become one of them, sort of like treat you like a son and raise you in his ways.
Marcus: whatever I get to learn, I'll use it to kill them all and get us out of here.
Amelia: remember this is a global organization, you take down the only station they have in this country you bring war unto all of us and yourself. Let the army and whatever is in-charge handle it.
Marcus: won't that take a whole lifetime?
Amelia: it's better to be alive in bondage than lose your life quicker than you were meant to.

Marcus: [sighs] anyway. He looks to be in a really good mood today, I bet they paid him [looking at Kingson laughing]
Amelia: well, too bad for me.
Marcus: why is that bad?
Amelia: because they're two times he likes to put me to bed, one is when he's from a hard task somewhere I'd basically be he's stress reliever and another is when he's so happy........

Kingson: [screams out] my queen!
Amelia: and there we are, the only goodness about this time is he's a lot more gentle and likes to cuddle. Which I obviously hate.
Marcus: it must suck being in your place......
Amelia: [looks at Marcus and smiles while she walks towards Kingson outside]
Kingson: my queen......

Amelia: I'm here Kingson [sits on his lap]. You know it's been awhile since you needed me, I missed you.
Kingson: [smiles] my queen. You see that boys? Come on [they left]

Manny: lil man!
Marcus: yes [rushes towards him].
Manny: [gives him stacks] the usual.
Marcus: [about to leave then Manny stops him by holding he's arm]
Manny: this time make Kingson proud, should Pralito give you problems beat the sh** out of him and just get stacks. In fact get extra ten, you feel me?
Marcus: yeah, I feel you.
Manny: [rubs he's head and lets go of he's arm].

Marcus arrives at Pralito's and does as he's told, gets ten extra stacks and runs out quickly since he went for his gun. As he ran he bumped into a lady, dropped the bag and fell.

Lady: oh I'm so sorry [she helps him up, picks up the bag and what fell out of it]
Marcus: [with a serious face] thank you [about to continue running]
Lady: [holds onto the bag] what is a little person like you doing with drugs?
Marcus: woman please just let me go if you know what's good for you
Lady: kid....... [Sighs] you know what, let's go.
Marcus: where are you going?
Lady: where ever it is you're taking this stuff.
Marcus: look here woman, I don't know if you're insane or stupid but I gotta get these packages to Kingson, besides he'll just gut you like a fish if you walk in there.
Lady: let me guess, this Kingson man is a drug-dealer right?
Marcus: [laughs] you're not from around here are you? He's not just any drug-dealer. Look here woman stop, please stop!! [She stops walking] please give me the bag, you go your way and..........

Lady: well, just so you know, I'm a badass myself so let's go.
Marcus: [in shock, they start walking] well okay, miss badass woman. Just so you know, I ain't gonn' save your stupid a**.
Lady: and someone is going to have to beat the nonsense out of that mouth.
Marcus: at least give me the smaller bag inside.
Lady: and what's in it?
Marcus: just an empty glass jar that's all, you can check it yourself.
Lady: [checks and gives him] so how exactly did you end up here?
Marcus: if you survive this, I'll tell you [laughs]; or not since you won't.

They reach, he's about to walk in but she stands at a distance and holds him.

Manny: yo lil man, who's this b**** you decide to bring in? Is she your way out? You know I too was beginning to see something in you.
Lady: alright cut the crap [he keeps quiet then she tosses the bag to them] you're lucky I'm giving this back to you. I could have just taken the boy and called the embassies on y'all.

Manny: girl, you don't know what you just walked into.
Lady: I'm well aware, besides I'm not a kid in case you haven't noticed and I'm smart too. So you better watch how you talk to me!
Manny: you don't know Kingson and you certainly don't want to piss him off right now, he's been in a good mood you'll be a ruin of it.
Lady: and you don't know my father, you certainly don't want to piss him off right now, he's been in a bad mood and you will die for it [smiles and makes a 'what else you got' face].

Manny: [laughs and then points he's gun at her]
Marcus: [whispers to her] I told you
Lady: [gets her phone out of her pocket] my father is on speed dial. You shoot me, I press the green button, he traces this place, a whole embassy army arrives, you run, they'll definitely find you I mean its guaranteed they will and then all of you, dead.
Manny: [still pointing it in silence while she makes a serious face]

Man 1: [standing next to Manny holds the gun and lowers it] let them go man, look we'll find them. This chic looks pretty serious and aint f****** around, whoever her dad is, will bring the heat on us. We can't afford that not while we ghat a big game coming up man. Kingson will understand.
Manny: [puts the gun down]
Lady: yeah that's what I thought.
Manny: get the f*** out of here, just so you know we're onto you. We'll find you and when we do, I'll kill you myself after f****** that annoying sh** out of you!
Lady: we'll see!! [She pulls him and they leave]

She walks out, walks around in circles then into a crowd of people, gets into a small car to the bus station and leaves. They travel through the night and get to another country.
