The orphanage was eerily quiet, shrouded in the stillness of the late night. Lee pulled up in his car, his headlights casting long shadows across the grounds. He stepped out and walked briskly toward the main office, his footsteps crunching on the gravel. The weight of Namjoon’s instructions and the urgency of the situation bore heavily on him. He had to find Taehyung and bring him back immediately.
As he approached the office door, a faint noise reached his ears. He froze, straining to hear. The sound grew clearer—soft, unmistakable moaning. His brows furrowed in confusion and disbelief as he recognized the voice. It was Taehyung. His breath hitched as anger began to bubble within him.
Quietly, Lee stepped closer to the glass door, his fists clenching at his sides. Peering through, his heart sank and rage surged simultaneously. Inside, he saw Taehyung entangled with Yea-Ji, their intimate actions illuminated by the dim light of the office. The sight was a betrayal, a slap to the face of everything Lee believed about Taehyung’s love for Jin.
Lee’s jaw tightened as he backed away from the door, his chest heaving with barely controlled anger. He stormed back to his car, his vision blurred with fury. As he reached it, he slammed his fist against the hood with all his strength, the metallic clang echoing through the night.
“AAAAHHHH!” he roared, his voice raw with emotion. “DAMN YOU, FUCKING KIM TAEHYUNG! I WON’T LET YOU LIVE FOR BETRAYING MY FRIEND LIKE THIS!”
The sound of his own voice ringing in his ears did little to calm him. He leaned heavily against the car, gripping the edge of the roof as his thoughts raced. How could Taehyung do this to Jin? How could he betray the person who loved him so deeply?
His phone buzzed in his pocket, snapping him out of his storm of thoughts. Lee yanked it out and saw Jungkook’s name flashing on the screen. He hesitated, still too angry to form coherent words, but eventually, he answered.
“Lee, did you find Taehyung?” Jungkook’s voice came through, sharp and impatient.
Lee didn’t respond right away. The anger he had been trying to suppress boiled over, making his grip on the phone tighten. His silence stretched, and Jungkook’s tone grew more urgent. “Lee, answer me! Is Taehyung there or not?”
Finally, Lee couldn’t hold it in any longer. “Yeah, he’s here,” he spat, his voice trembling with fury. “But you’re not going to like what I have to say, Jungkook.”
“What do you mean?” Jungkook demanded, his voice laced with concern. “What’s going on?”
Lee’s words came out in a rush, his anger fueling every syllable. “Taehyung isn’t alone. He’s with Yea-Ji. I caught them in the office, together. And by together, I mean exactly what you think.” His voice cracked slightly, but his anger remained palpable. “I can’t believe this, Jungkook. How could he do this to Jin?”
There was silence on the other end for a moment, and then Jungkook’s voice came through, low and dangerous. “Leave him there. Don’t bring him back.”
“What?” Lee asked, surprised by the coldness in Jungkook’s tone.
“You heard me,” Jungkook growled. “Leave him there, Lee. He doesn’t deserve to come back to Jin, not after this. We have bigger problems right now. Come to the old KIM’S MANSION immediately. Jin is in danger.”
Lee clenched his jaw but nodded, even though Jungkook couldn’t see him. “Understood,” he replied curtly. Without another word, he hung up the call, slid into the driver’s seat, and started the engine.
As he sped away from the orphanage, his thoughts burned with a mix of frustration and worry. He had no idea what awaited them at the mansion, but one thing was clear—betrayal and danger were now intertwined in ways he couldn’t untangle.
