Three years later...
Early in the morning, Eda climbed the stairs, walking to the navigation center and carrying two coffee cups. She stooped outside the door, yawned, and then entered the room, where she was greeted by a smile of her best friend.
"Are you done?" Ceren asked, taking one of the cups from Eda, who just sat on the chair next to her.
"Yes, I just got off my shift." She nodded, rubbing her eyes while the blonde inhaled the coffee scent. "I'm just waiting for Serkan to go home. Where is he?"
"Well, one of the recruits broke the radio, so I will be able to communicate with them only when they pass the aircraft carrier, but I have them on the radar." Ceren pointed at the screen where Eda imminently located Serkan's aircraft among many other planes, which right now looked like were practicing one of the formations. "They are still playing but should be back soon. Maybe even Serkan was the one who broke the radio because he knew I wanted to go home too and I would call him back half an hour ago."
"Yes, that is very possible." Eda snorted, smiling slightly from over her cup. "Send him a message through the second channel that if he won't be back in five minutes I'm taking the car and he's walking back home."
"Great idea." The blonde replied with a grin and quickly leaned over her keyboard.
Not longer than two minutes later, the radar showed that the aircrafts took a turn and flew in the direction of the base, and when the first one passed the aircraft carrier, the radio picked up the signal.
"Good morning, ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have beautiful weather today, the gentle wind from the west will bring us nice clouds to shield us from the afternoon heat and a breeze will cool down some overworked brains."
Eda smiled, hearing Serkan's voice on speaker while her gaze closely followed his aircraft on the radar.
Ceren rolled her eyes and pressed the button on the control panel. "Midnight, come back to the base."
"Do we have Bambi in the tower? Do you copy me?" Serkan asked and a small muffled chuckle, which belonged to Engin could be heard on the line as the aircraft made a circle over the ship and now was flying in another direction while the rest of the planes headed to the base with Engin closing the formation and rushing the stragglers.
Eda took the speaker. "Commander Bolat, prepare for landing now."
"It's Capitan Bolat." Came from the radio, but now the aircraft made another turn and joined the formation, taking the first position.
"Not for another couple of days." She retorted and put the speaker back on the table. She finished her coffee, waved at her friend, and quickly rushed outside.
Eda reached the airstrip just in time when the first plane landed. She went toward the hangars and waited there, and soon, the aircraft stopped just a couple of meters from her.
The cockpit opened, and a tall silhouette jumped out of it. The pilot only managed to remove the mask of his face before Eda launched into his arms. She giggled when Serkan picked her up and spun around. She got busy with unfastening his helmet, and when she took it off and was about to kiss him, a sharp voice interrupted them.
"Commander Bolat! What is this behavior in my base?! Do you want to clean another toilet?!"
"He wasn't supposed to be at the base." Eda murmured against Serkan's lips as he put her down on her feet.
"He does hate shopping. He must have run away as always." He rolled his eyes and turned toward Admiral Ozan, who didn't seem to be in the mood this morning.
