When Kang Zhing's father returned home, she told him all that happened and about Song Wu's arrival. He promised her that he would pick up this matter with his colleagues at the royal court and ask justice for her, when the court will be in session.

The family retired to sleep later.

Then at midnight, Song Wu along with his guard entered Kang Zhing's house after using a sleep-inducing smoke. The house that Kang Zhing lived in, was in any case a half-kachcha-half pukka house, and it was easy to abduct her once she fell asleep.

She was taken to the abandoned palace near the hot spring, where Xi Mang was already present. He hoped to bring an end to this case. But later he felt that there was no need to be personally present as he was not mentioned by name in her plea.

I should let Song Wu do the job. There is no need to implicate myself any further. That girl should keep her brains and accept 1 kg gold.

He went inside the cleaned bedroom of the mansion and sat down. He picked up the cup of stale tea, and tried focusing on what was happening outside.

Kang Zhing was brought on a horse by Wu and she was still sleeping. Song Wu and the guard took her inside the hall and found Xi Mang missing.

After searching for him, they found him sitting in the bedroom. Song Wu informed him of the details and Xi Mang told him to be careful and talk nicely.

'I do not want anything to do with this. I do not even have to be here but you told me to come and I came. I will leave in a while. Ensure that she withdraws complaint and tell her that it was your mistake and that you had no wish to break laws or to harm anyone. Tell her this as sweetly as you can. Beg on your knees if you have to but ensure that it is done tonight.'

The prince repeated his instructions again and again because in his eyes Song Wu was also suffering heartache and may miss out on the bigger picture.

'So...you want me to withdraw my complaint Song Wu? You trespassed into my house, drugged me...and abducted me to hide your original crime?'

'YOU ARE AWAKE?' Xi Mang was shocked to see her recover from the sleep-inducing drug so fast! This drug was used by the Lu family clinic in the cases where animals suffered from grievous wounds and one dose could make them sleep for hours. On humans, it took another drug to wipe the effect of this sleep-inducing drug or else a person would sleep for 48 hours non-stop. Xi Mang had himself tested these drugs on himself and found them potent, and here was a young woman who got up from it within 2 hours!

'And this troubles you, right? You are his accomplice or is he yours?

'Kang Zhing do not talk to His Highness in this tone!'

'So, you are Xi Mang? I knew Song Wu was a beast, but seeing you, I think you both are equal. No wonders Lu Ran ran away from you.'

'SHUT UP.' Xi Mang lost it at the mere mention of Lu Ran and his mind felt enraged to the point that he thought it was Lu Ran calling him a beast.

Song Wu saw enraged face of Xi Mang and in the moment, he felt worried for Kang Zhing. Whatever she was, she was still a girl and in no way as protected as Lu Ran. Xi Mang could kill her and bury her here and he wouldn't be able to do anything. Even the guard went out fearing that the prince may beat him up to vent his fury, because Song Wu will surely protect his lady love. 

'Your Highness, leave this woman alone. She is an idiot. Kang Zhing, please, hear me. I apologize to you. I am willing to kneel down for you but please do not press case against me. I will never appear on the hot spring ever again. It was all my fault. Please accept this 1 kg of gold as my humble supplication and do not press charges against me.'
