Previous night attack on Lu Ran had alerted the whole Lu mansion. Security was tightened and Lu Fan took matters in her own hands on this.

Lu Ran got the medical aid and was resting with Ji Gang watching over her while Lu Fan took into account security of the mansion.

Lu Xang came to see Lu Ran and after consoling her, he gave her the prophesy that was made for her. She knew a bit about it as she had seen a sage in her house when she was still very young and heard a little about it too later.

She told her father about the weird dream she had.

'If you see this dream again, then you must tell me. Also, keep chanting Goddess Kali's name and seek her protection. I have someone who enjoys influence on the royal household. The person I need resides in the Himalayas, let me seek his help. I will set out today. Your mother will stay in your room and you must be in her eyes at all times. Lu ladies, the Lu mansion is in your hands.'

'Sir. I am also here. Please do not worry. I will do everything to protect Miss and Madam.'

'Ji Gang. You also need to stay safe. Be wise and keep abreast of each other's movements. Okay?'

'Yes sir.'

I hope the mystic will be able to stop Xi Mang's streak of madness without bloodbath, Lu Xang thought and went out.

Lu family had stepped in at this crucial moment and did everything so as to protect the people of the state. The sage had blessed the Lu family and told Lu Xang privately that his deed was so heroic that even the supreme soul blessed them with infinite positive possibilities in any difficult situation. In short, he said, if you want a problem solved, then the forces of the Universe, living and non-living, will help you.

Lu Xang tended to this sage's needs and he promised to help him if the need ever arose. A promise of such an awakened sage is equal to the word of the Universe and it was time to seek him.

It would take Lu Xang 3 whole days to reach the Himalayas at the top speed. He had taken 55 armed guards on fastest of the horses and set out.

When the sun rose, Xi Jiang came to speak to Lu Xang but found that he had left and knew instantly that something had gone wrong. Ji Gang appraised him about Xi Mang's attack on Lu Ran and everything that happened.

Hearing his brother's shameful act Xi Jiang felt disgusted. He had no face to show Lu Ran and got up to leave when she entered the drawing hall. From a distance, Xi Jiang saw Lu Ran putting a veil on her face to hide away her injuries.

He walked up to her as she steadied herself on her bruised leg all the while trying to adjust her veil. His hand reached out and took her fingers away from the cloth...and saw with his own eyes what his brother did to this woman.

His eyes reflected his pain and Lu Ran saw that he winced when she again tried to cover herself to hide away her injuries.

'This will only hurt you more don't do it. Lu Ran. I am sorry.'

He turned on his heel and rode his horse. This time, he knew, what he needed to do and how.

At Xi Mang's instructions, the Lu mansion informer was found along with his horse recuperating and both were bought to the mansion.

Xi Mang had returned the night before and had silently gotten treatment. But Lu Ran's audacity at hitting him for merely showing his passion for her beauty had infuriated him so much that he beat 2 of the maids till their bones started showing. He then threw them out and told the guards to bury them in unmarked graves.
