BANG BANG BANG!
Lia let out a tired groan as she felt an ache in the back of her head. Her vision still swimming as she tried to sit up but couldn't muster the strength to do it without feeling like she was going to lose her guts. Another bang sounded in the distance as she felt like she was being held underwater, everything sounded so far away.
"Lia! Open the door? Are you okay?" She heard the voice say. She wasn't sure who it was anymore than she was sure where she was. She tried to roll on her side but felt a twinge of pain shoot up her back. She must have hurt it when she fell. She fell. Lia's eyes widened as finally her hearing cleared.
Her vision. She remembered now. The way he stalked her like a predator admiring their prey before they strike, and strike he did. He struck her mates right out of her life. Without their mark she wouldn't be able to link them. To feel them. They couldn't track her. She would be gone, and if the evil man had his way. She would never be seen again.
Fear consumed her once again as she screamed. She wasn't sure what she was screaming for. The pain she felt when her marks were severed. The pain she felt from losing the once comfort of life she had left for herself. The innocent bliss. She screamed for everything that wanted to damn her, just for existing. Her scream died off into choked sobs as her resolve finally crumbled.
She heard a click and rushing feet before she was swooped into two sets of arms. She gasped as pain went through her back and her vision finally cleared as she looked into the eyes of her mates. Will wiped her tears away and she cringed as her head pounded, her crying only increasing the relentless throbbing. Josiah carefully moved her into his lap keeping his arms loosely around Lia's waist as she cried into his shirt.
Will scooted closer and began rubbing up and down her thigh trying his best to comfort her. Once she finally calmed down enough to speak she sniffled a few times before clearing her throat softly "I had a vision" she said her words broken by fear as she recalled it again and again. The boys tensed in response and she knew what she was going to say would strike fear into them.
It struck her hard as well. She'd only been tied to the twins for a day. Not even a full day of bliss before her attackers henchman appeared to take her away. Her mind reeled. Will was the first to speak as he took her hand rubbing calming circles on the back of it. "When you're ready, we will listen." She took a shaky breath and explained the situation in as much detail as she could manage. She could feel their pain the anger the defense but most of all, she felt their fear.
It was like a branding iron in her mind. The fear was always intense, but tack on two extra doses of fear into the mix and it was enough to send you to the psych ward, but as she felt she would slip away a calm washed over her. It wasn't her own, no, she felt the fear still but it's like most of it was slung away. She looked into her mates eyes and saw nothing but resolve.
She blinked as she tilted her head, a silent question in the air. She was too tired to form words, her head still throbbing as well as her back. Josiah smiled softly and kissed her head. She sighed and leaned into his lips, feeling grounded by the touch. He pulled away tilting her chin up to meet his gaze.
"Everything is going to be okay, we are here with you, we will fight tooth and nail for you Amelia. Don't fear so harshly, all he has is a plan. We will make sure it's never given the option to go into action." As tears welled once again in her eyes she nodded and kissed him softly. He stroked the back of her hair and she winced. Pulling away from her kiss he gently palmed the back of her head.
Will noticed and felt too as he let out a low whistle "Damn Lia, busted your head up a bit angel. Might need to go to the infirmary and check for a concussion." She nodded limply as her head started swimming again and as she leaned against Josiah sleep over took her again as wills voice of calling her name faded, and all that was left was her and the darkness she ran from.
