Lost Portals (Tails X Reader)

The Intruder

"So like... what? We just sit around and wait for her to show up?"

"Well, I'm not sure there's much else we can do..." Tails responded to your question.

"She's from another dimension, and we haven't really figured out the whole inter-dimensional travel situation yet." Sonic said. "At least, not in a way that won't make everything explode."

"So what if Blaze never comes? Will I just be stuck here forever?"

"We don't know that." Tails said, trying to put you at ease. "For all we know, she could have nothing that would help us in this situation! All we can do for now is try and find those chaos emeralds and see if we can figure something out from there."

"Alright..." You said, accepting Tails' plan of action. "Where do we start?"

"Well, we've already got the Chaotix out there trying to gather info. I might as well go out and join them. Bet I could ask everyone on Mobius if they've seen anything by the time those three are done with the village." Sonic said confidently with a smirk.

"Great! While you do that, me and (Y/N) can start on building a new emerald tracker!"

"Sounds like a plan. Go team!" Sonic said before running out the door at an incredible speed, per usual.

"Well (Y/N), let's get to work!" Tails exclaimed, heading down to his lab.

"But we just came from down here..." You groaned, following behind Tails. "Can I at least take 15?"

"That rotten hedgehog always thinks he's one step ahead... Well this time, I'm gonna have a little surprise for him..."

Eggman sat at his desk, looking up at his monitor that displayed a large map of Mobius, with several spots across the region marked.

"What do you mean, boss?" Said one of Eggman's creations; a circlular, red robot named orbot.

"Yeah boss, what do you mean?" Said another robot of Eggman's. This one, yellow and square, was named Cubot. "He's usually the one surprising you when he destroys all of your creations, takes all of your things, beats you up, ruins your plans, blows up your-"

Cubot was suddenly cut off as a can flew across the room, hitting him directly in the face and bouncing down onto the ground.

"Yes, yes, I get it you imbeciles! No need to rub it in..." Eggman said, turning back around to face his computer. "But this time... this time is going to be different. Once I beat Sonic to all of the chaos emeralds, I'll use them to fuel the biggest, most diabolical machine I've ever built! And then, they'll practical hand over that human after I threaten to destroy that little village of theirs." He chuckled to himself. "From there it's just a hop, skip, and a jump from harnessing their power to take over the entirety of this dimension and the next! It's simply just too easy!"

"How are you so sure that this is the time you're going to beat him, sir?"

"Because..." He said menacingly, slowly raising his arm to reveal a blue gem laying in his hand. "I've already got a head start..."

"Can you hand me that screwdriver over there?"

You grabbed the screwdriver before extending your hand out for Tails to take it. "So, Tails... what do you guys do around here? Y'know, besides building stuff."

"Well, me and Sonic usually spend most of our time fighting Eggman or whoever else shows up to threaten Mobius."

"Whoever else? You mean there's several people that are out here doing that kind of stuff?"
