It was a regular, ordinary night in... Goiky.

Well, they were *reasonably* certain that they were in Goiky, anyway. The Pillary Ruins and its surrounds are quite a distinct location compared to all the other places they've been in, and so there is quite the case to be made regarding its uniqueness and distinctness from the region of the world they've come to know as 'Goiky'. Another is the fact that they were sent here by Two in order to exile them for the severe crime of not wanting to leave Four behind, of wanting to Battle for Battle for (Battle for) Dream Island instead of The power of Two. If the algebralian decided that *this* was a good place to send them to, then there's most likely a reason that that was the conclusion they arrived at. Most likely. You never know with the Battle for Dream Island, after all. One of the possible reasons that green number considered it to be a good place to throw them away is because it's plenty far, far enough that they'll never have to be a problem for anyone ever again. And if it's far enough away, then it's most likely so far from Goiky that it's not a part of it anymore. It's... elsewhere on Earth, perhaps. But if that's the case, then why did they decide to call it part of Goiky? In that one time where they had to retrieve X and bring them back to Four in order to start the competition back up, they were able to get back to the Goiky they were familiar with quite easily. It turned out that this far-off, distant locale wasn't actually... *that* far. It's the opposite of far. It's near. And if it's near, then that's a blow to the possibility that this is a separate place from Goiky; it's not so separate anymore now, is it? As such, they have to consider the possibility that it is indeed not separate. It's a part of Goiky. But then again, perhaps this silly little argument doesn't really matter in the end. After all, where do all these terms keep coming from? What decides what Goiky is, where it is, and what or where *isn't* Goiky? People do. One day, for no particular reason whatsoever, the people of this particular region of the world (whether it be the contestants of the Battle for Dream Island, their predecessors, *their* predecessors, or whoever) decided that they needed a name for the place that they live in. Then, perhaps on another completely ordinary day, perhaps for no reason at all as well, they decided that that moniker would be Goiky. The reasons why have been lost to history, or are perhaps buried deep within Book's pages, but the legacy of it still remains. Today, people are still calling locations Goiky, saying things are Goikian in origin, and that's the way things are. Sure, there was the possibility that they could decide to change it; since the term was made up by people one fine day, and wasn't handed down by some higher authority up in the sky or whatever, they could easily... *un*-make it. But why do that? Goiky is a perfectly fine term. It's got two syllables, five letters, and doesn't take up much space in their head or time in their finite life. To cause a debate about something so silly and inconsequential would be a waste, especially considering that the former contestants of the Battle for Dream Island have far greater things that occupy their conscience, their thoughts, their feelings.

Such as the fact that that competition is long gone. Long over. A long time ago, there was the Battle for Dream Island. Then there was the Battle for Dream Island *Again*. Then the Battle for Battle for Dream Island; that already is quite the mouthful, but then there'd also be the Battle for Battle for Battle for Dream Island. Who comes up with these sorts of names? These unwieldy, extremely convoluted names? Well, it doesn't really matter now, as the things and concepts they were used to refer to are now over. Done. Finished. Flower won the coveted prize, everyone else moved on to doing other things (including starting yet *another* Battle for Dream Island, but that's another doozy that they fortunately don't have to deal with yet), and all was right in the world once again. Presumably. Therein lies the problem. The contestants of the Battle for Dream Island have spent well over a decade doing exactly that, and in the rare instances where they weren't, they were thinking about it, or reminiscing about it, or fearing it, or something else entirely. So many years, so many seasons. As such, the competition completely and utterly warped and deformed their notion of what life should be, of what's out there to enjoy. It gave them the impression that the Battle for Dream Island was all there was, with all the action, adventure, drama, and intrigue that it entails. Now that they were no longer fearing for their lives every episode, now that they didn't have to consider the thoughts and views of a faceless, soulless audience, they were confronted with the reality that that... *wasn't* the case. That for most of the history of the world, for most people on the planet, *this* was what living was like. Just... existing in this desolate, depressing rock, trying their hardest to get by and survive, to live to see another day.
