Pin was getting back into the swing of things.

She hasn't exactly had the... *best* track record in the Battle for Dream Island. When she first joined the show, she thought she had everything planned out and sorted. She fancied herself as the brave, heroic leader, always staying one step ahead of the competition and leading herself and her teammates towards inevitable victory. When she and Leafy were one of the two that decided the ultimate fate of everyone else, dividing them into the teams that would persist throughout much of the competition, she figured that she was pretty much set. She was able to assert her dominance and prove her skills and talents, showing that she was not a force to be meddled with, someone with the capacity to take *anyone* down. There were still those that refused to see sense, of course; there were always gonna be stragglers, the stubborn. But one of the hallmarks of a true leader is how they are able to successfully and speedily get rid of dissent, to get rid of any potential threats to their rule. With the Squishy Cherries winning their first ever challenge under her benevolent administration (and her own direct action), she figured that everything was set. So long as she kept the ball rolling, she (or someone else on her team, though she didn't like thinking about that) was bound to win the island. For *sure*.

That... didn't happen.

Everything that occurred after she was thrown into the Tiny Loser Chamber has been one big blur to her. A long, tumultuous, *painful* decline. Despite having the people's best interests in mind, it's clear that they still aren't able to see the light; she wound up unable to rejoin the season despite *multiple* chances to do so, mostly due to losing favor with the unknown, uncaring viewers. When she was *finally* given a shot at redemption, so much time had passed that pretty much all of her reputation had been lost. If she was to get anywhere, she was gonna need to bite the bullet and deal with *others*. Make compromises, let sub-par strangers take the reins, collaborate, cooperate, *whatever* it took to get her control back, regardless of cost.

She'd... rather not think about it. Especially not now.

After spending so long wallowing in the darkness, she was finally back to where she wanted to be. After the universe had spent so much time kicking her while she was done, it decided to finally throw her a bone; through pure, random chance, through some sort of miracle, she would be released of her many, *many* burdens and be put into a position where she could *finally* show her worth. After so many years of working hard to get rid of her shackles, Pin was once again at the helm, leading a passionate and dedicated group, all working towards a single, positive goal. Things were great again. Things were as they should be again.

...So why couldn't she enjoy *any* of it?

A leader makes do with what they have.

Death P.A.C.T. wasn't the best team Pin could've hoped for. The team *seemed* to work well on paper; everyone on board had quite the skillset, and if they were *really* put to use, they could be a significant force of change and good. But it was clear right from the start that there were a number of... *obstacles* to go through before she could unlock that true potential. There was the whole death prevention thing, of course; although a noble goal, the world didn't seem to care for that one bit, and their activities in that department might not necessarily align with what's actually needed to survive. There's been a growing push to change that, of course, but that's another problem in itself. The absolute *last* thing a team should be is divided; the contestants were already split up once, they did not require to do so again. With every meeting between the members of the P.A.C.T., there were always hints and traces of that schism, signs that they weren't quite out of the troubles just yet. Saving lives was great and all, but should they not focus on saving themselves first and foremost? Perhaps they should focus on actually winning The Power of Two? Considering all that has been said and boasted about it, it's bound to be a *massive* help for their goals, is it not?
