The P.A.C.T. just got a bit smaller. Again.

The moment Fanny got recovered after another tumultuous episode, she immediately pushed aside her teammates and told them she need just a little bit of time off; they had a meeting to discuss what to do next, but *surely* that can wait. It's not like anything they come up with ever works, anyhow. The moment they all had their backs turned, she immediately sprinted out of there, away from all the other contestants and into the glorious silence that was the rest of the world. It was a rather quick dash over to the Goiky Canal, where the sea met the sand, where none existed but herself and her thoughts. Given what went down here just a little while ago, she had... rather bad memories of this place; she hated many, *many* things, and remembering past trauma was no exception. But still, the peace and tranquility the place provided was just unlike any other. Here, she was guaranteed that she was far, far away from all the commotion and chaos of the competition, where contestants constantly complain about challenges and cheating and the like. She could rest herself there, calm herself down even by just a little bit, and enjoy some actually relaxing, actually *enjoyable*, time alone.

At least until Death P.A.C.T. arrived looking for her, anyway.

She didn't really know the first thing about the P.A.C.T. when she joined it on a whim; since that little... mishaps, making judgments without much thought became one of her new hatreds. But as she settled in with them and learned their ways, she ultimately concluded that she was in good hands, that she was part of a team with noble intentions and capable members. Dying was, for obvious reasons, pretty high on her list of hates; she knew that she could always be recovered sooner or later, but the sensation of death was still very, *very* painful. Ever since her first ever meeting with them taught her the lay of the land, she became rather keen on death prevention as well. She probably wasn't a likely candidate to win Two's limitless powers, given her... *colorful* personality, but at the very least she could still do some good. Maybe teach others the beauty and sanctity of life. Or help one of their fellow P.A.C.T. members win the competition. That was good enough for her.

Then they lost their very first contest. Then their solemn oath to protect life at any cost got in the way of their actions. Then they *intentionally* gave up and sacrificed one of their own for the sake of someone that wasn't even in her team. The electric fan *really* tried to bear with them on this, to try and understand their way and motivation, but that lingering fear of whatever happens to people after they get disappeared by Two fueled her anger. It gnawed at her very being whenever Tree talked of righteousness and the greater good, or whenever Black Hole, the all-powerful cosmic force that could probably command everyone to do whatever he pleased, discussed necessary sacrifices. Surely, there were better ways of going about their mission. *Surely*, there were means to achieve their goals without repeatedly shooting themselves in the foot. Surely, there was a more effective and efficient method to deal with death.

One she didn't hate.

Sure enough, reality caught up to her eventually; Lightning would cautiously orbit around her, watching her face to make sure she wouldn't snap, then finally stopped in front of her. "Hey, uh... Fanny." He'd wave at her. "We're gonna have another meeting about-" "I *know*." The electrical device interrupted. "I'll go there before it starts; just leave me alone. I *hate* being intruded on." "Yeah, sorry." The lightning bolt intruded. "I really didn't want to; I know how uppity you get. But Treeyee told us to look for you, so..." "Well, you found me." The angry one replied. "Hello. Now, goodbye." "Alright." With that, the one that could float would do exactly that, going away from her ASAP.

But...

"This is about Remote, isn't it?" He'd slowly float back, raising an eyebrow. "You're still a bit angry about how she's gone. Well-" "Uh... *hello*?" The fan glared at him. "You said you were leaving, and yet you're still here. Did you lie to me? I *hate* liars!" Lightning frowned. "Sorry. Sorry. It's just... I miss her too. She did so much for the P.A.C.T., and the fact that she just went away like that is so-" The blue one groaned. "We were in the bottom two." She'd explain. "We knew that one of us was gonna go, that it was gonna hurt, but that *psychopath* made a joke out of it all." She'd let out a deep sigh. "I couldn't even get to say goodbye; that defector of yours threw me off the roof before I could do anything." Another pause to let it all simmer. "And all because we lost. *Intentionally*. We decided that our death prevention goals, our self-imposed limitations, *that* was more important than our chance to get infinite power, than our teammates. For the greater good."
