Trouble (N/A)

It's the start of a new stage in the Battle for Dream Island, but Death P.A.C.T. continues to stick to the same old plans.

Despite the fact that the Team Swap was seemingly done completely at random, and all the other teams got a good reshuffling and were scattered throughout the four new arbitrary divisions, the P.A.C.T. *somehow* managed to retain their pre-existing members, in addition to the new members that they've picked up. They didn't have the smarts of Golf Ball (especially after Remote got the boot), but it doesn't take an obnoxious know-it-all to figure out that the odds of that happening are... not exactly all that probable. Almost as if there are unseen, all-powerful forces at work, tugging at strings behind the scenes and making things more of a nightmare than they already were.

Whatever the truth may be about... *that*, one thing was clear: that was probably gonna be a more subtle, more impossible thing to deal with than what they've currently got right now. All the other old teams did not have *nearly* as much luck as the P.A.C.T. had when it came to the team swap; everyone else had been scattered and thrown away to other teams, being paired up with people they don't know at best, and don't know at worst. And with how many curveballs and obstacle have been thrown their way recently, it was clear that this was gonna be the start of a *rather* more tumultuous time for the Battle, and that meant a near-full itinerary for the P.A.C.T., who were already quite busy in the first place.

And speaking *of* business, though the P.A.C.T. might have managed to survive *relatively* unscathed, that didn't mean that they were free from doing *anything*. There was still the matter of the new recruits; those that likely didn't have an interest in the preservation of life beforehand, but now were forced into the profession by random chance.

The P.A.C.T. had an... *issue* regarding direction and guidance for a little while. The less that's said about that, the better; it gets in the way of death prevention, after all. The sudden appointment of newcomer Pin into the position of leader was supposed to remedy that. Somehow. They've been keeping tabs on everyone for quite a while now, and she's done an... *alright* job of managing both The Losers and the Team8s. Far better than any of them could do, anyway. Also, having a completely new face could potentially dampen the feelings and tension. Since the pushpin had absolutely no clue about the struggle within the team, she was bound to go in a third, entirely different direction that they could both work towards.

But it didn't take long for the initial enthusiasm to die down. Again, she was a *newcomer*. She probably didn't know a single thing about the prevention of death, or the preservation of life, but now they were putting her in charge of managing *all* of that. How do they know that she wouldn't just throw it away immediately? They could immediately strike her down, sure; their more lax guidelines about what their P.A.C.T. stands for means they can resort to more... *extreme* measures for the sake of long-term gain. But since it was *them* that gave her that power in the first place, it was bound to be a division that would tear the team apart, and there were already *so* many things trying their hardest to break them.

Then there was the issue of Robot Flower. They've been *very* aware of her and her little... *problem* as of late. When they got her on board as their prize for winning their first challenge, they knew that they were in for a *really* bad time. In the intermission in-between episodes, they'd be dealing with her going around and causing trouble, taking up just as much of their time and attention as all the other troublemakers *combined*. And when the second contest finally rolled around, they got a *very* painful reminder of just what they were up against. The issue with Pin was one thing, but *this*? This was just completely absurd. There were many instances where the P.A.C.T. would gather, conspicuously being one member short, and they'd begrudgingly deliberate over whether or not Fanny *truly* got everything right all along.
