It was just another ordinary, regular day in Goiky.

Pen in particular was using the fact that it was just another ordinary, regular day in Goiky to the fullest; he hasn't exactly had the... *best* time. To start, he joined the Battle for Dream Island to... well, Battle for Dream Island. And win it. He had everything all planned out, knew what he wanted to do with it. And then... he *didn't*. He definitely did not. He got thrown into the Tiny Loser Chamber, wasn't able to rejoin, and so he just lingered in that cramped metal box for the rest of eternity. What felt like an eternity, anyway. Time can get rather weird if you have absolutely no sense of it passing; when all you've got to look at are a bunch of gray walls and a bunch of sad folks, there is *definitely* no sensing time. Well, the *balls* were always keeping track of time; that's just one of the many, many, *many* things Golf Ball and Tennis Ball learned how to do, among all the other boring nerd stuff they know about. But nobody was gonna talk to *them* about anything. There's also the fact that the lid of the TLC is opened for five minutes every day, so that could be used in order to keep track of the time. What was it even opened for, anyhow? For... sunlight? They can go for 1,338 days without eating, they don't need to breathe (sometimes, anyway), but they need to feel the warmth and power of the sun? That's a rather strange thing to need, if one thinks about it for more than 2.763 seconds. Do they even actually need it, or was it something the Announcer did just for kicks? That speaker box did a lot just for fun, after all.

One thing they *did* need, though, was companionship. Friends. Other people to interact with. If you don't have anyone to talk to, if nobody's your friend, you end up like Flower. And *nobody* wanted to end up like Flower. Nobody. Some say that she's changed since those days of yore, but only that bozo-brain bossy-bot Golf Ball knows for certain, and as mentioned before, nobody was gonna talk to *her*. And so, if you don't wanna be like Flower, you don't wanna end up alone. Pen didn't want to be like Flower, and so he didn't want to be alone. And he wasn't alone. In the Tiny Loser Chamber were all the other failed competitors, those that had their hopes and dreams completely and utterly crushed by the brutal iron fist of reality, forced to spend the rest of their days in that terrible little box. Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it) for him, however, those failures also happened to include his friends. Blocky, Eraser, and Snowball too, depending on how one defines friends. They all ended up in the TLC at some point or another, all dropping like flies. Even more fortunately (or unfortunately, whatever), he didn't have to bear the burden of going in there first; he didn't have to spend a month in there all alone, besides all the others that were already there. Someone *still* had to endure that, however. Once the writing utensil was thrown in there himself, the first thing he immediately did was give that parallelogram a big hug and tell him that everything's gonna be alright.

Well, *technically*, Eraser wasn't the first one to go in. Blocky was eliminated quite early on, and had to endure the pain of isolation for quite a while. But then he was given a chance to rejoin the competition, a chance to redeem himself and show to the world just how much he *wanted* to win Dream Island. And it worked *spectacularly*. He managed to beat Needle by just one vote, and improved his performance from miserable 18th (or 19th, depending on how you count it) to *somewhat* better 10th (or 11th, again, for the same reasons).

...Poor Needle.

*Then* Eraser got thrown into the Tiny Loser Chamber a little while later, then Pen, then Blocky once again. They were all thrown away in rapid succession, discarded like they were trash. On the one hand, that... *sucked*. There was no way of getting around it; they didn't win the Battle for Dream Island, and that was pretty disheartening. But on the other hand, at the *very* least, they wouldn't have to endure that suffering for long. Endure that suffering for long *alone*, that is. Waiting one or two months is still quite a long time, but compared to the time they ended up spending in the TLC, that was pretty much *nothing*.
