Chapter Ten: Arthur's Rescue Attempt

Hi guys i just finished chapter ten of story and with out any delays here it is i hope you enjoy it Do not own Merlin. Kira is my own character i made up though

Arthur's POV    

Arthur felt terrible returning to his chambers that afternoon with complete fear for his servant's life. Gaius had told him once two guards had taken Merlin straight to Gaius chambers that someone was seriously wrong. He had explained that Merlin should have not fainted and something didn't seem right.

Merlin's mother Hunith looked terrible as Gaius led her quickly away back to his chambers. After all she had seen her son collapse in front of her and even though Merlin had been in more danger or hurt before it was likely she had never seen her son like that and it made Arthur's heart hurt watching her and that was also why he had not gone back with Gaius or Hunith he had to clear his head. Arthur had also noticed he had lost the necklace he had found and didn't know whether that was a bad thing or not.    

Arthur lay flat out on his bed breathing loudly thinking how his chambers were still quite dirty and with the way he watched Merlin being taken away it might not get done for sometime to come either. A knock echoed throughout his chambers and he waited a few seconds to answer.

"Come in."

He sat up and watched as Gwaine came into the room.

"Sire I heard what happened and I thought maybe you would want some company."

It was never like Gwaine to ask him such a thing so he did the only thing that came to him.

"Why would you want to do that?" said Arthur sighing. "

"I think you are such a princess but I know you and Merlin are close as much as me and Merlin are close and I know how it feels to think maybe your friend is hurt," Gwaine said firmly.

"What gives you that impression," said Arthur rudely.

"I know you are close with Merlin even if you never express this to him...seems to be the only one you don't tell but I bet you will regret it if Merlin does die. He would never have known the one he has served for years and been loyal to actually cared. I let you think on that," said Gwaine and with that he left Arthur on his own in his chambers once again.

Why did Gwaine even though most of the time he was drunk have to make a point so clear in his head like that, with the way he was feeling at the time it made everything a whole lot worse and he thought he had come to cheer him up, guess not.    

Gwen's POV    

 Gwen had been sorting out Uther's chambers and she still could never get quite use to her new maid job serving the king but she needed some kind of job and this did the part so she was not complaining. She had heard a few rumors about what had been happening including someone attacking a servant but she was feeling worried that the servant was Merlin, she just suspected this since Merlin had been getting into trouble a lot lately.

As she finished of making the bed that was when she heard the loud noise outside. Gwen rushed out the room to find a figure dragging that boy who had been living with Merlin and Gaius what was his name, oh that was it Kira. She ran forward quickly not really knowing what she was thinking.

"Hey what are you doing with Kira!" she shouted.

The figure looked shocked at first but retreated a little dragging Kira away. Gwen saw Kira face he looked frightened, scared but also pleased to see her but what could she do to protect him. The figure had already done damage to the young boy as she watched the blood drip down Kira's face.
