• Sevika stirs in bed, her hand instinctively reaching for you. When her fingers meet the cool sheets instead of your warmth, she frowns and cracks an eye open. The room is dark, the faint sound of Zaun's nightlife humming outside.
• She sits up slowly, running her hand through her disheveled hair, scanning the room. Then she sees the faint glow of the balcony light filtering through the curtains. A low sigh escapes her lips as she swings her legs over the side of the bed, her bare feet brushing against the floor.
• Pulling on her jacket over her tank top, she moves to the door with quiet steps, peeking through the crack. Her sharp eyes land on you sitting on the balcony floor, knees hugged to your chest. The night air swirls around you, tugging lightly at your clothes.
• Sevika pauses, watching for a moment. You’re staring into the distance, your face pale and your shoulders tense. Her chest tightens; she knows that look. She’s seen it on herself more times than she can count.
• She pushes the door open, the sound soft but enough to catch your attention. You glance over your shoulder, your eyes wide before softening when you realize it’s her.
• "Couldn’t sleep?" she asks, her voice low and rough from waking up, though there’s no irritation there.
• You shrug, looking back at the city lights below. "Bad dream," you mumble, barely above a whisper.
• Sevika steps out fully, the cold air biting at her skin, but she doesn’t seem to care. She lowers herself beside you, her metal arm resting against her knee while her flesh hand gently brushes over your back.
• "You should’ve woken me up," she mutters, her tone softer now. "You don’t have to sit out here alone, princess."
• You shake your head. "You need your rest, Sev. It was just… It felt so real."
• Her brows knit together as she watches you, her protective instincts kicking in. She shifts closer, draping her arm over your shoulders and pulling you against her side. You lean into her, the warmth of her body grounding you.
• "What was it about?" she asks quietly, her voice barely louder than the wind.
• You hesitate, your fingers fidgeting with the hem of your shirt. "Losing you," you admit finally, your voice cracking. "It was like…like you were gone, and I couldn’t stop it."
• Her jaw tightens at your words, and she pulls you closer, her metal hand now resting protectively on your knee. "That’s not gonna happen," she says firmly, her voice steady. "I’m not going anywhere, sugar. Not without a fight."
• You nod against her shoulder, your eyes brimming with unshed tears. She feels you tremble slightly and presses a kiss to the top of your head, her lips lingering there as if trying to chase away your fears.
• The two of you sit in silence for a while, the sounds of Zaun filling the space around you. Her hand traces soothing circles on your arm, grounding you further.
• "Next time, wake me up," she murmurs eventually, her voice softer now. "I don’t care what time it is. If you need me, you come to me. Got it?"
• You nod again, your fingers curling around the fabric of her jacket. "Okay," you whisper, your voice barely audible.
• She stays with you until your breathing evens out and your head starts to droop against her shoulder. With a quiet grunt, she shifts and scoops you up into her arms, carrying you back inside.
• She lays you down gently, brushing a strand of hair from your face before climbing in beside you. Her arms wrap around you immediately, holding you close as she presses a kiss to your temple.
• "Go back to sleep, doll," she murmurs against your skin. "I’ll be right here."
• This time, with her warmth surrounding you and her steady heartbeat beneath your ear, you believe her.
