THE sun poured down through the tent that Y/n woke up in. Her head was pounding, and it hurt to move.

She could feel swelling in her face where she was punched and her calf was on fire. Y/n gritted her teeth and pulled herself to the tent flap but paused as she listened to the mumbles outside. An argument.

"Honestly, I feel like we should just call it quits." The voice that Y/n identified as Tighnaris.

"What? We are so close to the truth. Why would we stop now." Alhaitham scoffed. "Look, I know you're worried about Y/n, but honestly? I feel like you're treating her like a child. She can handle herself. She literally walked miles with Cyno in her arms." Alhaitham said, annoyed.

"That doesn't change the fact that two people got hurt. Regardless of who they are. They could have DIED. You're being very nearsighted. Don't try and act like you don't care for everyone else here. I see right through it. Cyno is down, and we can't do anything until he's up again. And from the ways it's looking, who knows how long that may be..." Tighnari trailed off.

Y/ns eyes widened as she recalled the events that conspired. She couldn't help but feel a tad bit of concern for Cyno. She pushed herself up and limped out of the tent.

Tighnari turned and faced her and gave her a comforting smile. "Y/n! You need to go sit down, alright?" Tighnari attempted to lead her back to the tent.

"Tighnari, please." Y/n gently swatted away his hand.

"Where is he? Is he okay?" Y/n asked a little worried.

"Cyno? Yes. He's fine for now. He's resting." Tighnari confirmed.

"...for now...?" Y/n said, taking a shaky breath.

"I-" Tighnari chose his next words carefully, casting a meaningful glance in the tents direction. "I can't promise anything."

He grabbed Y/ns shoulder and rubbed it. "I couldn't promise anything for your condition either."

"Can I see him? Cyno?" Y/n asked quietly.

Tighnari nodded. He assisted Y/n over to the tent. Y/n sat down next to the sleeping figure. "I'll leave you be. Let me know if you need anything." Tighnari gave a reassuring smile and closed the tent.

Y/n studied his face. His hair wasn't matted in blood anymore, and instead, it was his normal snowy locks. His face wasn't nearly as pained anymore. Since the last time she saw him. It had a peaceful look to it. He had a bandage on his forehead. His breaths weren't all as shaky anymore and instead were steady and deep.

Y/n awkwardly pulled the blanket up higher to cover his bare chest.

She felt horrible for knowing this was easily preventable. If anyone else was there with him instead of her. Even Kaveh for Archons sakes! Cyno would have been able to pull through this far smoother.

Cynos breath caught, and his eyebrows furrowed. Y/n watched him unsure if she should do something. She leaned down towards him and pushed his hair from his face.

She jumped back when Cyno started to open his eyes. She felt a little flustered but quickly brushed it off.

"Cyno. I'm glad you're okay." Y/n breathed out the breath she held in her chest.

Cyno lifted a hand to his bandaged head. He flinched at contact and slowly sat up, his teeth clenched as he did so. He pulled the blanket off and glanced at his bandaged stomach.

He locked eyes with Y/n before they slowly trailed to her bruised face and down to her hurt calf. "You're hurt." He said with a level tone.

He squeezed his eyes shut and pinched his nose, frustrated. "This is my fault. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have brought you along."
