The Happy One (Ashton Irwin)

Pretending

 "Ring Ring.....Ring Ring......uh hello?" Ashton questioned as his phone ringing woke him up. "Hey man it's Luke you want to practice later today at Calum's house?" The energetic boy asked. A few seconds passed before a tired Ashton finally replied " Yeah sure man when is it?" There was a slight pause on the other end of the phone followed by a uncertain Luke. " Uh I'm not sure maybe around 6:30 or 7:00, just make sure your not late we have our first gig this Saturday." Ashton never realized how serious the band he was in were about performing and was excited for Saturday. " Okay sounds awesome I'll see you later.

 As soon as Ashton got up out of bed he felt extreme soreness and pain in his wrist. Not exactly remembering,  Ashton stomach dropped he couldn't believe that what he was hoping was a nightmare was true he cut himself once again. Ashton slowly got dressed avoiding any more pain to happen to his wrist. He went to the bathroom and bandaged the newly healing cuts on his wrist, then routinely putting his bracelets on  to hide the bandaging and wore again a long sleeve shirt to make it even harder to see anything. Before going downstairs Ashton had to mentally prepare himself to confront people and pretend that he was happy and nothing was bothering him, or that he was in pain.

 Ashton was sadly used to pretending to be someone he isn't around others. Whether if he's feeling depressed,insecure about himself , or he's just sick. He is used to pretending that he is happy and fine so that others wouldn't see him in pain. No matter what he would always have a smile and crack a joke every other minute to make people happy. The reason he does this is so no one would have to feel as sad as he does because he felt like nobody deserves to feel like that except for himself because he deserves it. Every day  Ashton would go downstairs as if he was wearing a mask and told his family that he loved them, also he would never leave home without making them laugh. When he did this he felt that he was somehow making up for the mistakes he has made in the past by making them happy instead of upsetting them.

 As Ashton was leaving the house he grabbed some food from the kitchen and told his family he loved them before he left. While walking to Calum's house all Ashton could think about was how he hoped that practicing with his band would help him forget about the night before and that he would have fun. Also he couldn't get his mind off of performing with the guys and how cool it would be if they became famous one day and perform all over the world. 

Ten minutes go by and Ashton arrives at Calum's house finally and can already hear the loud boys shouting at each other. " Are they fighting about pizza and penguins? Oh well at least I'm not late" Ashton thought as he knocked on Calum's door. Unexpectedly a new face Ashton never seen opened the door.
