The rest of the day went fine. Ashton and his family all went to his grandparent's house for Christmas Eve dinner. Making Ashton wear his nicest clothes, even if he wasn't to keen about it. Arriving at their house always made him happy, being able to see his grandparents was like reliving the early 50's all over again. Their house's decor was filled with sock hop themed items, Elvis Presley memorabilia, and what Ashton loved most was all of their old records. Every single year his grandparents would let him pick a record to keep and this year he chose a rare Elvis record,loving the old style rock and roll music.
After dinner his family gathered around the fireplace and Christmas tree to open gifts. His mom got a new dress, Lauren got a new doll house, Harry got a remote controlled car, and Ashton got a guitar that his grandpa used to play. Even though Ashton was a drummer he still knew how to play the guitar because the boys taught a few songs and chords. Before it got really late him and his family left and went home to get ready for the next day.
"Ashton honey can you please help me wrap the little one's presents?" his mom asked. "Yeah sure mom just this year please don't have me "accidentally" wrap my presents again" Ashton said jokingly. "Alright smart guy let's get this thing started." After a half hour they finished. Ashton was proud of how fast him and his mom finished wrapping everything. " Now that's done how bout a Christmas cookie?" Before Ashton could respond Lauren squealed "Cookies mommy pweety pweese can I have a cookie I know their for Santa,but I think he wouldn't mind if I had just one?" After that Harry walked in and said "Yeah mommy peas I want a cookie too, if Ashton gets a cookie we should too right mommy?" With two kids begging her finally Ashton's mom gave in and said "Sure my little elves, but after this you have to go to bed okay? You don't want Santa not coming because your awake do you?" Harry and Lauren both simultaneously shouted " No mommy we'll go to bed soon." Ashton and his mom both laughed at the two and helped them get ready for bed.
"Good night Lauren, I love you see you tomorrow." Ashton said. Before leaving he placed a kiss on her forehead and tucked her in. As he was leaving the room he heard the little girl's voice say " I love you Ashy I hope you get what you want from Santa tomorrow. Looking back he replied " Thanks Lauren I love you sweetie and I hope you get everything you want too. But go to bed okay I love you good night. And just like that he finally left the room and went to bed.
