"Shit, I'm gonna be late for class!" Dream pulled open the doors to the building, running down the hall to the "mythological studies" class. He was sopping wet from the rain, not having enough time to grab an umbrella.

The professor barely looked up as he ran past her up to the back row where he sat with his friends. They were all used to him being late some way or another, and the attention was long gone now. In front of Dream's chair was a single sheet of paper marked with a red "F."

"...huh. Okay." he mumbled, pulling his chair back and sitting down. He glanced over at Sapnap and George, both having achieved around the same grade as him. They both didn't care, George was asleep and Sapnap was texting his partners about something or other. "And, as we move on to the next unit, I'd like to remind you that final exams are coming very soon! I wouldn't recommend slacking off." the professor noted.

"....shit." Dream pulled out his notebook and flipped through to find the pages empty, apart from the occasional scribbles of "zeus horny" or "weird family tree." "...Sapnap? Can I copy your notes?" He turned to his friend. "I have nothing." Sapnap shrugged. "Why?" "Well, you know. I need to pass this damn class?" "do you?" the brunet yawned. Dream groaned. "Sapnap, not everyone has rich parents like you that can just get you a job wherever you want." the man just shrugged.

Dream's eyes scanned the row, biting his lip. Would anyone let him copy their notes? Well, he had to try. He grabbed his notebook and began to scoot his chair down the large gap that was between his friends and the nearest students. His target was a man with pink hair and a ponytail, staring at the professor and writing notes.

He reached up and tapped the man on the shoulder. the pinkette turned, scarlet eyes gazing down at him from behind rectangular glasses. Dream bit his lip and scribbled down "can i copy your notes :3" into his notebook and slid it over to the man. The pinkette stared at the notebook for a second and then replied under dream's note, sliding it back to the blonde. "Meet me in the library at 4 pm." was all it said. "Uh-?" Dream looked up, but the man had gone back to doing notes.

Dream pulled open the door to the library, this time having an umbrella with him to protect him from the rain. He checked the different rows until he found the pinkette again, leaning back on his chair and scrolling on his phone. "Uh... hello?" Dream grinned nervously, and the pinkette glanced up. "Oh good. I was beginning to think that you stood me up."

"Stood you- what?" Dream sat down, and the man sighed, adjusting his glasses. "You know. In a non romantic way. I have a brother or two to feed back at my place." "ohh, okay. So. um. Why am I here?" Dream played with his hands. "Because your grades suck, and you wanted me to help you?" Dream snorted. "My grades do NOT suck." "they do. The teacher asks me to grade everyone's work. For extra credit." The man pulled his hair back in a ponytail, and dream snorted. "Shit. just my luck to ask the class nerd for help."

The man didn't respond to the jab, pulling out a couple textbooks. "My name's Technoblade, by the way." "I didn't ask." Dream stuck out his tongue, and Techno scoffed. "Well then. Maybe I just shouldn't help you." Dream fell silent, still glaring at Techno. Techno scooted his chair over to dream. "So. Zeus and Hera." Dream rolled his eyes, but pulled out his notebook anyway.

The days passed quickly.

After the first few days of jabbing at techno and being an overall bitch, Dream finally began to focus. The rain didn't stop, pounding on the windows as Techno taught him stories of gods and goddesses. He was also taught notes, after techno would make disgruntled faces every time he would write a single note, and eventually would just walk over and aggressively point out what to write.

A couple times he fell asleep leaning on techno's shoulder, and would wake up in his dorm room, feeling well rested. They began to stay long after library closing times, as the librarian would trust techno to lock up the place when they were done.

Dream checked the clock. "It's ten pm." "great. That means we can move on to- ""no, no, let me have a break." Dream yawned, getting up from their table and walking out into the middle of the library. It was empty, all the lights off and doors locked. It was bathed in dim moonlight from the domed window above them, and dream laid down right in the middle of the floor, watching the window.

Techno walked out and laid down beside him. "So. how do you feel about the coming finals?" "Can we talk about something that isn't school for once?" Dream huffed, and techno nodded. They laid there in silence, Dream's eyes drifting shut. " 'm cold." he mumbled. "You should wear a jacket more often." "no." Dream scooted closer to techno, snuggling into his warmth.

He didn't exactly care about physical contact at the moment, as he was still pretty sure that the man had carried him back to his dorm and tucked him into bed multiple times. Techno was stiff, as if he didn't exactly know where to put his arms. "Oh soften up, dickhead." Dream yawned, tucking his head into the crook of techno's neck.

Techno relaxed slightly, and the two laid there, listening to the rain on the floor of their college library, techno falling asleep before Dream.
