Chapter 2.Three

I was out from the office 30 minutes after six in the evening. Napasubsob kasi sa trabaho. My phone started ringing, "Hello? May problema ba Leon?" tanong ko dito nang makita itong biglang tumatawag.

"Daddy! Are you going home now?" tinig ni Caile ang narinig ko.

"Yes. Is there anything my princess wants?" nakangiting tanong ko while maneuvering the car out of the parking lot.

She gigled, "Can you buy me Tito Rhince's apple pie?"

I nodded kahit hindi niya naman ako nakikita. "Okay. How about your brother?" tanong ko dito and then I heard some walking and Caile's voice calling for her brother in the background. "Hey son, anything you want to eat in Exquisite?" tanong ko nang marinig ang boses nito.

"French macaroons, Dad."

"Alright. French macaroons it is. I'll see you both in 30minutes, okay? I love you two."

"Okay, Dad. We love you, too." he bid goodbye before ending the call.

I put my phone down and made my way to Exquisite. It didn't take me that long and I parked the car just outside the restaurant.

"Good evening, sir!" bati ni Manong guard.

Nginitian ko ito. Suki na kami ng barkada dito kaya halos lahat ng empleyado nila ay kilala kami. "Good evening, Kuya!" I said tapping his shoulder bago pumasok.
May um-assist agad sakin pero umiling lang ako and told her I will have a take out. She led me to the counter. "Is Rhince around?"

She nodded, "He is in the kitchen at the moment, sir. Should I inform him you are here?"

Umiling ako dito. "It's okay. Hindi naman ako magtatagal."

"Vin! Pare!" tawag ni Rhince na kakalabas lang ng kusina at nakachef uniform pa. Nag-excuse naman ang empleyada nito. We did our fist bump and greeted each other. "Kakain ka ba?"

Umiling ako dito. "My kids wanted your apple pie and macaroons. Magtetake out na din ako ng 10 crossini and turkish delight. Pati na rin steak mo."

Tumango tango ito. "I'll have Caile's favorite apple pie prepared. In the meantime, why don't you take a sit while I bake her pie."

I nodded and sat on the stool in the counter while he called someone to prepare my other orders. Iniikot ko lang ang cellphone ko sa palad when it rang. "Bakit?" tanong ko sa bodyguard ni Sheenon.

"Ms. Sheenon has just parked outside Exquisite, sir. She is alone and has dressed herself up."

Napangisi ako. Talk about luck? I smirked. "Alright. Thank you." ibinaba ko na ang tawag just as I heard the door chimed. I looked at the glass stand on my side at nakita ang pagpasok nito. Nakatalikod kasi ako dito kaya sa salamin lang ako tumingin to confirm her arrival.
She did dressed up. I'll probably wait for a few minutes to see kung sino ang kameet nito. Kung meron man.

She sat in one of the tables near the glass window at the corner. A waitress approached her. Nakamasid lang talaga ako dito ng ilang minuto.

"Huy!" tinapik ako ni Rhince to have my attention. "Sino bang tinitingnan mo?" tanong nito habang sinusundan ng tingin ang pinapanood ko. He then grinned and looked at me. "No wonder hindi mo napansin na tapos na ang order mo. Nandiyan pala ang magandang Tita ng mga anak mo."
