Chapter 1 (katniss)

Sat in the vent with Peeta in my thoughts unsure if I can this anymore... be the mockingjay I mean. With my pregnant baby bump below makes me even more terrified than I already am. I head foot steps from behind I slowly turn around snapping out of my thoughts. "katniss..." Haymitch whispers trying not to startle me.
"I can do it anymore Haymitch... I can't be the mockingjay. The baby and Peeta are being hurt because of me." Haymitch looks at me shaking his head "not the mockingjay just Katniss and no one is going to be hurt. They are... Rescuing Peeta and the others."
"WHAT? No one told me!" I jump up but Haymitch pushes me back to the side of the vent gently. "katniss what are you gonna do? Jump out this vent and storm the capital? Besides you have this one to think about now" he says has he pats my forever growing bump. I sigh in frustration. "you can't just expect me to sit here and do nothing! Not while my husband is still in the caption getting rescued!" I scream.
"Katniss... I understand. there going that's the main thing okay? Volunteer only and guess who signed up first huh?" I realised what he was saying. Gale. Of course. "wait husband?"
Oh crap... "yeah. Um that um yeah it's true don't say anything I'm not making myself more vulnerable. I can't risk the baby even more and make coin think any less of me."
He just nodded. "okay come on how much I would love to sit here and chat sweetheart we can't let's leave. Your right about the baby and Peeta but right now being in a stuff vent is not a good idea for the both of you" Haymitch states with a hand in my bump of a second then wiping my tears. I just nod and let him help me to my feet and leave the vent. Effie comes over and takes my other hand and walks me back inside.

Sitting in command with Beetee beside me causing havoc within the system and me staring at gales face in the green light. I can see the fear he is trying to hide. With the sound of finnicks voice voice filling the air. suddenly everything shuts off. "wait what's happening? Beetee? BEETEE?" He just looks at me for a moment.
"The system is coming back online" Beetee states and I start to panic. "quick but my voice out there I can ask for snow he might hold off if he realises it is me" its my last option.
They scuttle over with the microphone and camera and give a thumbs up.
"President snow, president snow it's me katniss" I'm now shaking with one hand on my bump as my baby kicks. "he might not even be watching" Haymitch says shaking his head.
"Ah the mockingjay... Ms everdeen " a voice Calls out of the speakers. Then the face of snow appears.
"So, the rumours were true about the baby then?"
"you will keep away from them" I say.
"Oh katniss, I thought we agreed to be friends. why would I do that?"
"All I wanted to do was keep my sister and Peeta alive that was all I wanted I didn't want any of this. I just wanted them safe and mine and peetas baby safe."
"Well look what's happened we have a war and is anybody safe? No." I know you can't see past your concerns but do you think I don't know that your friends are in the tribute centre?" He smirks and stares.
"LEAVE THEM PLEASE... HAVENT I CONVINCED YOU THAT I LOVE PEETA!! I lOVE THEM, I LOVE HIM" I scream
"Cut them off" he shouts then static appears.
"Haymitch, Haymitch HE KNEW . HE KNEW. THE WHOLE TIME. NO WE CANT PLEASE JUST GET THEM OUT."
"We cannot get a hold of them it's gonna be okay sweetheart" Haymitch says trying to comfort me.
"IM GONNA LOOSE THEM BOTH I AM I LOVE THEM NO NO" I scream then fall to the floor in Haymitch's arms. He is trying to hush me but nothing works. suddenly a pain shoots up my side. "no no no not the baby too" as another pain comes. Then I black out.
