Chapter 9 (katniss)

I sit bedside Annie and watch her rock willow gently and she starts to drift off to sleep. "your a natural Annie" I say and it's true. Annie seems so much calmer and stronger in a way. she just smiles back at me "she is just so beautiful I could look at her all day. I can see what she got from you and peeta. Her eyes and her hair are definitely peeta's and her facial structure is yours" she sighs in awe. "not to sound too proud but I agree" I smile and she looks back at me and we both chuckle. peeta walks over "hello girls how are you?" We both nod. "were good. apart from me being tired and aching all over" I complain and peeta kisses me. "you should rest" he insists but I shake my head "no I can't. willow may need me. "its okay Kat were all here, you gave birth only a few hours ago please rest... for me" ugh peeta why do you have to be so wonderful and persuasive. "okay fine if you insist" I say before kissing willow on the head then kissing peeta. "love you all" I yawn. "love you too" peeta chuckles at my sleepiness.

I put willow back down so she can sleep and I just sit in front watching her peacefully. I can't believe that I peeta mellark have a daughter. I go check on katniss and she is sound asleep I guess her body hasn't even got the energy to have nightmares this evening. I walk back in and gale has come in "hey...peeta" he shifts awkwardly; I don't understand why, it's just me. "hey gale you alright?" He nods. "I came to see katniss... to see if everything was okay because when I came back from the field I heard that she went into early labour so I came back" he says and I smile. "yeah she's okay. she was a little shaken up after the birth but she's okay now. she's in there if you want to see her" I say before I sit back down.

"....she's in there if you want to see her" peeta says smiling back at me. why is he being so nice to me? I know we're not enemies but we're definitely not friends either. I walk into her room and I can see that she is half asleep "hey katnip" she flutters her eyes open and weakly smiles. "hey gale how are you?" She sighs. "I'm good more importantly how are you?" I smile. "I'm good... just tired. have you seen her?" She asks. "her?" I ask nodding from walking past the cot before I came in. A daughter... katniss has a daughter.
"Her name is willow. Want to come see properly?" She smiles proudly. I help her sit up and we walk into the room slowly. Peeta is with a nurse signing papers and summons katniss over and quickly signs what looks to be a birth certificate and the nurse leaves. he gives Katniss a quick kiss "I'll see you in a while... I have got to go see haymitch. Bye gale" he smiles and leaves. "sorry about that" she says tiredly "lots of papers for us to sort" it did look like a lot then she leads me to the cot. "gale this is willow" she says and look down at her a smile "she's so small" I say and she chuckles. "yeah she is... I love her though" and it's true I can see it in her eyes. "katniss everdeen a mother. I never thought I would see the day" she laughs at that. "well that's mellark to you" she chuckles and so do I. I still love her but I can see her heart is set with peeta I need them make sure... "are you happy with him? Peeta I mean..." I ask and she nods. "yes very happy and we have willow she's making us better already. I'm sorry gale" she starts to well up "no katnip come on. I had know that you were happy. I know that now and I already knew that peeta loves you can will care for you. okay?" This calms her "okay." she says simply.
Then Annie rushes in "katniss katniss I'm getting married!!!" We both looked shocked. "congrats" I say and then Annie hugs katniss. "katniss. I think you should go speak to peeta he is outside" she giggles.

This worries me a lot. I turn the corner and I see peeta on one knee "peeta..." I whisper. "katniss, I know we didn't really have a wedding but I was speaking to Finnick and I was wondering if you want a joint ceremony with Annie and finnick...So would you do the honour of marrying me all over again?" He asks. "oh peeta of course I will" and I lean down to kiss him and I see Annie and gale smiling. oh this day keeps getting better and better.
