Chapter 6 (katniss)

"Dad?" I am Welling up I don't understand. he died didn't he?
"how? I'm so confused um" I almost collapse, peeta catches me and places me on a chair.
"It's a long story Katniss... when the mine blew up I ran when I woke up and passed or and woke up here and I didn't want people to think I left the others. "what about leaving me and the district. I was feed the family and selling game so others could eat!" He was just staring at me. Peeta grabbed hold of my hand. "I understand I'm sorry but I couldn't help it" what he was saying was just stressing me out more. "you couldn't of even sent a message ugh I can't believe..." I stood up and started crying. Haymitch came over and rubbed my back. "Dad.why?I don't... oh what was that... ahr peeta peeta haymitch" I pant. then he started to piece it together "your pregnant?" He asks in shock. "yes I am... peeta get mum" I plead. "Kat no I'm not leaving you" peeta is firm and there is no changing his mind. "you. you did this?" I step in front of my dad "no leave him. I can't just let you go after peeta. after two hunger games and being married if I want to have his baby I will" I state rather angrily and winch through the little pains. "wait hunger games?" He doesn't know?
"Yes we were in the hunger games and yes we are married and this rebellion we accidentally stared because of the games" I pant. peeta angry now "stop just stop everyone. Katniss is now under too much stress it's bad for her and the baby. I'd rather not have anyone risking their lives" he basically shouts. dad is even angrier "she is my daughter and that is my grandchild and I certainly didn't give my blessing to the relationship never mind the marriage!"
I'm still winching then mother walks in. "what on earth is going... on" she barely finished finished the sentence after she saw dad. "Aiden?" She whispers. "yeah it's me" she whispers then swirls her around. them she smacks him right across the cheek "after all this time and you didn't say a word" then she turns to me and looks shocked. I must look terrible. "the stress has caused you to go into labour Katniss" what? No no... I just shake my head and try to stand but collapse into peetas arms.
"Aiden. you know better." mother says and help peeta to get me to the hospital wing.
