Chapter 8 (katniss)

Tears are streaming down my face my poor baby girl. "this is all my fault" I whisper and peeta pulls me in for a hug "no it isn't some things we have no control over. this is one of those things" he says.
"She's so tiny" I say as we sit next to her cot. "she is... our little girl" peeta says and this makes me smile. piece of me and a piece of peeta. "what are we going to call her?" I ask.
"I don't know. have any names?" Peeta smiles.
"I like willow" i say.
Peeta smiles "I love it!" He says. "Our willow" he whispers.

Our willow. I already love her so much. I put my hand through the case and hold her hand and her fingers wrap round my thumb and I smile "she is defiantly gonna be a daddy's girl" Katniss says and I laugh.
Then her dad walks in "hey" and Katniss gives that look that goes right through you. "hello... dad..." he stands right next to her. "she's beautiful. she reminds me of you when you were tiny. so peaceful" he says and I give him a smile. Katniss kisses me full on the mouth ignoring her dads words. "I'm gonna go and get some water" and she leaves. "Don't worry she will come round. she's just stubborn" I say and he chuckles .
"That's Katniss she definitely was the one to hold a grudge when she was little" I laugh and look back at willow. "you both did a good job she really is beautiful" he says. i just srug my shoulders "she is... its willow by the way" I smile.
"Willow huh" he smiles.
"As I said she will come round. she loves you, give her time" I say and it's true she will. Katniss walks back in "hey... the nurse says we can hold her" she says with her arms folded over her chest. then she starts crying "dad I'm sorry I love you" and walks straight into his arms. "it's okay baby" he says.
The nurse comes in "would you like to hold her?" Katniss nods wildly and sits down on the chair. the nurse places willow in her arms and she wells up. The nurse lets us swap and puts her in my arms. Coin walks in and I suddenly become protective. I can see Katniss rubbing her arms keen to have willow back in them. she sits next to me and I pass willow to her and I wrap my arms round the both of them then Mr everdeen strands in front of us "that baby needs them haymitch explained" her dad pleads. Coin jumps in "I see that it is small and reliant on them but there is a war" this angers me but I don't say anything. Mr everdeen looks at me like I'm incapable unsure if he should cut in. better prove myself then. "how dare you. That's is willow not it, and she is my daughter. where willow is we are; she is here... so guess where we will be..." i put my foot down. Mr everdeen steps back and Mrs everdeen steps forward "my son in law has made is point" she smiles back at me.
"Peeta, Mrs everdeen I understand but you are needed especially Katniss. look as soon as your daughter is better and you can leave her with family or friends... you must go. we must stop any more games from occurring. that is final" then she leaves.
I turn to Katniss with tears down her face and hold them both "it's okay now. we will stay with willow. we will move our things down here. okay?" I say and she nods. Finnick, Annie, haymitch, Joanna and beetee come in. "hello! well look at this little one" haymitch coos and the others lean over Katniss to see willow. "the star crossed lovers baby... no one saw this coming. so how's the sex?" Joanna asks Katniss, typical Joanna. I just roll my eyes. Annie and finnick come closer and finnick knees next to Kat "she is wonderful" and Annie smiles back. "Katniss..." Annie starts "could I hold her if that's okay with you" she whispers. katniss smiles widely "of course... her name is willow" Katniss passes her to me and she stands up and let's Annie sit. I place willow in her arms "it's okay peeta" she sees the worry in my face probably but finnick helps her so I stop panicking. I know Annie is capable and caring. "I'm so proud of you" Katniss whispers in my ear. I thought I lost all my family... after look at this room, I haven't at all. I have them all and Katniss of course.
