Kang Dak-Ho

I stared out into a dark sky, the sun fading as it was lit up my fireworks and screams and yells.

A new year.

"Please! I have a family, I don't know where the woman is!" You know, I fucking love fireworks.

They're loud and beautiful, it covers all the other quiet things in the world, the evil muffled my gunpowder exploding in the air, by sheer happiness.

A new year.

2024 was the most beautiful year of my life, I met her, Milan, ages ago, but I asked her to marry me, those pretty brown eyes gleamed and for the first time, I saw tears caused by me that weren't of terror, they were happy, extremely happy.

Milan.

"Please, man, it's not too late c'mon!"

"Can't you see I'm having a moment here?" I asked, turning around, the man jumped, the sweat sheen on his forehead being illuminated by the fireworks in the sky.

We were on the roof of an old mansion, right now, I wasn't sure who I was anymore.

'She changed me'

But I felt like I reverted right back to the man I was before.

"Damn, you so fucking loud." I muttered, shaking my head and sighing as I turned back and looked up at the sky.

I opened my phone, or maybe the guys phone as it was cracked, and looked at the time.

11:50

"Milan Hadden." I spoke again, and looked up at him, I flinched because of the scar on my cheek. "The last time I saw her was 2 months ago, right before we left for Dubai, we were going to have a party there."

"Man, I swear, I told nobody 'bout that trip, nobody!" The man in my seat, I couldn't remember his name, I'd felt so detached recently from the world, maybe I needed to buy something fun, like a new knife, not sure. This man was the man who I'd planned the jet trip with, the only man who knew about my plans for Milan.

"You swear?" I asked, a smile on my face. 67 days, she disappeared 67 days ago. The only woman I've ever loved disappeared after I fought so hard to keep her, to have her.

Mine.

"I swear." The man said shakily.

"Swear it on your..." I looked down at his phone, "wife and two daughters?" I looked up, and I was sure I looked crazy, my eyes wide.

11:55

The man seemed to realize what I was saying, and his brows furrowed. "Where's my family?" I grinned, covering my mouth with my hand to stop the laughter.

This guy would be laughing too if he saw the way his face screwed up.

"Hey, hey," I said between laughs, "I didn't kill your kids, alright, I'm not a kidkiller, maybe."

"And my wife?" The man asked.

"Dude, is your wife a kid? You a pedo?" I asked, looking slightly disgusted. "Gross, man."
