Kang Dak-Ho
"And for a start to our new year, a contractor was killed on the roof of his building the night before. Police have not released information to us just yet, but they did let us know that if any of you see or hear something, do not be hesitant to let the officers know!"
I let a hand rest on my forehead, this fucking migraine was gonna be the death of me it felt.
"Sir..."
Where was she? Where hadn't I looked?
He told someone, the Devil? Call logs? I have to get his call logs.
"Well, sir..!"
"What."
I looked up, my new assistant, M...She helped me hire him because she didn't want to feel like a nepo baby, she wanted to own a bar, to mix drinks again, we were making plans to...
"Your 12 O'clock is waiting." I sighed.
I put off meeting him for a while, he was some clothing company owner? Elijah recommended him to us and I'd made plans to meet him, but that was before...
I stood up, grabbing my computer and walking over to the meeting room.
The man had been looking at his watch before looking up at me with a wide grin. He stood to his full height, meeting me face to face, smoothing his suit out as he spoke with a honeyed tone, his hand reaching out.
"Glad we could do this meeting, Dak-Ho, is it?" I moved past him and sat down.
"CEO Kang is fine, why did you want to partner up with MOONK Corps?" The man let out a slight chuckle, before taking a seat.
"Well, my company Hope believes that we could incorporate your work into various different pieces. Suit chains, we had an idea for a tie made of silver..." it felt like he rambled on for hours before looking me directly in the eye, which felt...strange.
Not to sound like a dick, but not many people could meet my eyes, I'm an asshole, nobody stares for too long.
I didn't like him.
"In six months we have a show planned in Italy, and we think this is could be a collaboration between Hope and MOONK Corps' jewelry."
I exhaled slowly, tapping my finger against the table, "Financially, it makes sense," I admitted, sliding the folder back to him. "A collaboration could be beneficial to the both of us."
His lips curved into a practiced smile, but there was something off about it— too smooth, too controlled. Like he'd been waiting for me to say that.
"Perfect." He said, his eyes still locked on mines, unreadable.
I nodded, yet the way his eyes stayed onto me made me clench my jaw. It wasn't intimidation, nor was it admiration. It was...assessing.
I wasn't sure I liked being studied that way.
He stood and smiled, walking out the door without another word.
