Can't Remind A Ghost

After Alpha's first mission, Hargrove sends him on lots more data retrieval missions. Every time he gets a new memory stick from Felix he can see the man get madder and madder. It radiates off of him. Standing next to Felix is like standing next to toxic waste. It hurts, and you shouldn't do it, but sometimes you have to because a old douche bag is making you. That makes Alpha a super hero, which is sweet. The bad thing is, Felix is a trouble maker. It's like what he was meant to be or something. Apparently it greatly pisses him off when he hangs out with Sharkface. Which is amazing. On the other hand, it means he spends a lot more time doing menial things like removing dirt and dead mice from his tent, which is gross. On the other other hand, he's never actually seen Felix do it, but he's like 500% sure it's totally actually Felix. Because who else would do something so absolutely stupid. Actually the time he still spends on base is usually cleaning up messes he finds in his stuff. Whether it's the boxes he's moving or the dinner he's eating. Dirt is definitely either the calling card of someone or the earth just hates him. Either or, its increasing annoying.

Still he has a mission today, so he grabs the dumb things packed for him. Gets rid of the dirt in his bag. Removes the dirt from his mongoose and sets off with the coordinates to the new bases location. Driving is one of the funnest parts for Alpha. It's not like he could drive the tank. He had never gotten his license either. Most places he could walk or at the very least run to. He just followed Tex wherever she led him, without a care in the world. Those were the times, even if they weren't technically his times. Well, Alpha was still a little shady o the whole "Ai" thing.

The drive didn't really prove to be entertaining. The same landscapes brought on with new landscapes. It was still a breath taking view. It wasn't particularly interesting though. It was just nice being free, or feeling like you're free at least. The desert landscape wasn't much of a change though, the dirt reminds him of Blood Gulch. It was nice being out and about, whether it's because you're being forced to or not.

Arriving at said destination, was a whole new experience. The tall entrance stared down at him. The wall seemed to go on forever. The huge building towering over even him. He stared at it for a while longer, admiring the view. He still had a mission to do though, so he cloaked himself and went inside. The building seemed to be even bigger than before. Large transcending columns seemed almost tall enough to touch the sky where the roof was caved in. The marble floor dirty with disuse and rubble. While Alpha couldn't guess how it happened, but he certainly had an idea.

This war that was talked bout in hushed voices around him. He thinks that must be it. He has no idea what role Hargrove plays in it. He's not exactly sure what he could even want from the war. The planet seemed desolate. He had never seen another human being besides the one he saw his first time in the other base. Still the thought of everyone being dead, which honestly seemed the most likely at this point, was still something to consider. Alpha was so lost in his own thoughts he didn't hear the other footsteps.

He continued down the hall, looking for the massive storage computer. While it took a while, as it usually does, he eventually found it. The massive computer spitting out code at him. He plugged the data stick in. It would take a few minutes this time, but Alpha was used to the wait by now. Still, he didn't see anybody around so he rested his cloaking mechanism. Taking a breath in the excess energy it provided. He enjoyed the silence and the sun from one of the many cracks in the roof. He rested against a a wall. Closing his eyes and enjoying the silence.

He didn't notice the other presence in the room till it gasped. Alpha opened his eyes to Aqua armor. The rush of 'Tucker' was immediate. The want to touch him was indefinite, the need to know it wasn't just a trick of the eyes horrendously arose. The other person in the room seemed scared, they were shaking.

"Tucker?"

"Church?!?"

"Seriously dude is that you?"

"How are you here didn't you die or something?"

"Well, I guess kind of"

"Why are you wearing The Meta's armor?"

"Oh uhh, not really sure, it's what Hargrove put me in"

"Wait, your working for Hargrove?"

"Not by choice dude"

"How did you get here?"

"A ship dropped me off. It wasn't really all that snazzy but it got me here"

"Do you even know what's going on here?"

"Not really? Why are you here?"

"Our ship crashed cause Hargrove wants to steal the alien tech to sell it but to do it he's trying to kill the entire planet and created an entirely fake war and pitted the people against each other with different mercenaries and now we're trying to save it"

"That's a mouthful"

"Bow-chicka-bow-wow"

"Good to see you've stayed the same"

"I'm glad your back dude. I missed you"

"Really Tucker? I never took you to be so sentimental"

"Shut up. You know you missed me to"

The reunion was great. Alpha had missed his friends greatly. The not so great thing was Hargrove checking in, wondering why the data stick had been flashing done for a while. The shocking pain that once again flowed through him, was horrible. It felt like lightning and death itself. Tucker watched him collapse to the ground.  The indefinite pain seemed to go on forever. Someone was clearly not happy.
