Edwards pov:
Seeing my sweet boy so worried for our Angel is breaking my heart even more than it already is for said angel of mine. Not knowing what has actually occurred back at her place is unsetteling to say the least. Jaspers and everyone elses fear also keeps on intensifying my own worry bit by bit.
As Janes phone rings, it right away has all our attention. Knowing exactly just whom is the one calling and what the matter will be about.
„I put you on speaker." she softly says instead of a greeting and quickly does as said. The heavy breath we hear right away lets us know that we wont like at all what is going to be said.
„Alec went to investigate the door to make sure it's going to withstand a possible second tried break in. He also made a few pictures to see if any of you might see something he overlooked, we just also send them to Marcus as we speak." Demetri lists off, till now nothing sounds too bad, but i know him already long enough to know that he is starting with the more reassuring part before going to the really bad bit.
„We also heard that other thing talking to someone on the phone, which was where i was heading to record her, as well as listen in." he goes on with a way more strained voice than before. An easy tell tale that this is going to be the horrid thing they surely don't know how to tell us without us going ballistic on the spot .
„Just to give you a heads up, it is quit traumatising what she is fantasising and wishing for, so maybe get in the right head space before listening to it." The sheer hate and distaste in every word of his brings us even further into high alert. Knowing that if it truly is as bad as he makes it out to be, than this stupid human isn't going to be much longer in the land of the living. Of that i and the rest within this room will make sure of it.
„Jane, darling, maybe you shouldn't listen to it, at least not for now. Your brother also hasn't till now, and i think knowing it's worse than we imagined is information enough. I would also suggest the same for Jasper, but that is something you must know and decide as his mates." he further says. The worry in his voice at the thought alone that his mate would hear any of it, only intensifies the urge to end this human trash right this second! If he says it's traumatic enough to not let his mates hear it, than it must be downright disgusting to say the least. They after all have dealt with pretty much every situation in their lifes as guards.
I can right away feel Jaspers grip on me tighten. By the look on her face, jane also seems rather reluctant to do as her mate asked her to. But i also know that in the end, she will follow their soft demand no matter how much she disagrees with them, just like my sweet boy will.
„Why don't you guys head on up to Carlisle's office while the three of us wait here? I will know the recordings anyway from your memories and reactions." i simply state and right away hear the reliefe in all their minds. Thankful i am willing to make sure those two wont be able to listen in on it while also making sure they are ok.
Seeing Jaspers betrayed face as well as hear his thoughts of how we all must think he is too weak for it to handle, i softly peck his lips.
„don't think that baby boy. We just don't want you, nor Jane to hear any of this filth if it isn't absolutely neccesaire." i softly try to explain our reasoning. It after all is the simple Truth! Why should we make them hear all of this, if we are going to stop it before it could ever happen anyway. No reason to traumatise them that much more then their imagination of what might was talked about is already anyway!
„I promise if it comes to a point where you have to know, i will personally make sure you will. But till then, please trust us enough to make the right decision for you." i promise the both of them as well as asking them to trust us to know what we are doing.
„Me too?" a shy alec asks in a tiny voice over the phone, which i without hesitation agree to. If they need to know, then they will know. No questions asked. This also seems to help them make up their minds as jane and Jasper slowly nod their heads in agreement. It's obvious that they still arent too happy about it, but they wont question our motives any longer.
„Ok, i don't like it, but i trust you to keep your word." Alec says after a long pause. I can see the utter relieve in Felix's eyes after he knows that both his mates are fine with this agreement. His whispered thanks also only gets a small nod in aknowledgement from me. Not wanting to delay their moving up to Carlisle's office any longer. Just to make sure the three of them wont change their mind on us again, not that i think they will, but better save than sorry!
„Well, lets move upstairs then. We will be right back honey." Rosalie says and stands up, making the others follow her within seconds.
„Do you think my baby sister is safe?" Jane asks me with tears of complete desperation in her eyes. Her mind a jumping mess of what might was said and how she could prevent any of it from happening. All of this only shows me even more clearly how much my angel truly means to her and further more how much she really loves her already.
„I am sure she is right now. And i can only promise you that i along with everyone else will do absolutely everything to keep it that way." i answer and see the relieve wash over her and over my baby boy. Guess they both needed to hear it to reassure themselves that my angel is indeed safe.
„do you guys hear her calm breathing? This means she is absolutely fine. No pain, no Fear no nothing. Let's concentrate on that, while the others think of a plan on how it will stay that way. What do you think? Does that sound ok for you?" i softly explain and ask all at once. Hoping to further calm their fear along with distract them from what is currently going on upstairs.
„Mhm, it's relaxing." my sweet boy sighs and nuzzles his head back against my neck. His hand still holding onto Jane, who simply smiles softly at my boy before nodding at me in reply. Her mind slowly starts to go to envision her baby sister, as she loves to call her, sleeping peacfully.
„Do you think she will accept us being vampires?" she asks me thougtfully. To be honest, i am rather shocked she would even ask me one of her biggest fears without any trace of hesitation.
„I sadly cant give you an answer to that. What i however can say, is that i hope she will and that i will woo her for as long as it might take for her to accept us as mates and you as family." i answer her truthfully. Not daring lying to her after she so openly asked me such a vulnearable question. She sighs heavily before yet again nodding her head in reply.
„She likes you a lot. Feelings don't lie." Jasper says with certainty as a large smile forms on Janes face. Her whole demeanor way more giddy as she asks Jasper to please elaborate on that matter. And of course my good boy does just that.
„Sure she feels even closer to you now after your dinner yesterday." he adds with a proud smile that he can actually make Jane happy by stating the obvious for him.
