The golden hues of the sunset spilled into their apartment, casting playful patterns across the floor. Jungkook sat on a stool in their art studio, a brush clutched between his teeth and vibrant shades of blue and gold smeared across his hands. His latest painting-a swirling masterpiece of emotions-sat in front of him, nearly complete.
On the other side of the room, Taehyung, dressed in one of Jungkook's oversized hoodies, was adjusting the lens on his camera, occasionally snapping candid shots of Jungkook in his element.
"Do you ever get tired of stalking me with that thing?" Jungkook asked, glancing at Taehyung without moving his head, the brush still sticking out of his mouth.
"I'm not stalking. I'm... appreciating," Taehyung said dramatically, clicking another picture.
Jungkook snorted but couldn't hide the small smile forming on his lips. "Stop being cheesy, Tae. I swear you've been hanging around too many rom-com sets."
Taehyung walked closer, camera still in hand. "You wound me, Koo. I'm just appreciating my incredibly talented and devastatingly handsome husband."
"Hmm," Jungkook said nonchalantly, still not looking up. "Flattery won't get you out of doing the dishes tonight, you know."
"Oh, come on! I did them yesterday!" Taehyung whined, placing his camera on the couch. "Isn't there some kind of 'newly wedded' exemption clause for this?"
"Nope," Jungkook said, popping the 'p' and smirking.
Taehyung huffed and crossed his arms. "Fine. Then I'll just annoy you until you change your mind."
He sauntered over, crouched behind Jungkook, and without warning, wrapped his arms around Jungkook's waist. Jungkook froze for a split second before bursting into laughter.
"Tae! Stop it-I'm holding a brush!" Jungkook tried to wiggle away, but Taehyung tightened his hold.
"Not until you say I'm exempt from dish duty!" Taehyung said, grinning mischievously.
"Never!" Jungkook declared, his bunny smile wide and bright.
"Fine. You leave me no choice." Taehyung leaned in and pressed his lips to Jungkook's cheek, planting several loud, exaggerated kisses all over his paint-smudged face.
"Ahh! Stop, Tae! You're gonna get paint on yourself!" Jungkook half-yelled, half-laughed.
"Worth it," Taehyung said, grinning as he finally let Jungkook go.
Jungkook turned around, face flushed, and gave Taehyung an exasperated look. "You're impossible, you know that?"
Taehyung leaned forward, close enough that their noses nearly touched. "But you love me anyway."
Jungkook sighed, rolling his eyes, but his smile gave him away. "Yeah... I do."
Without another word, Taehyung closed the gap between them, pressing his lips gently against Jungkook's.
At first, the kiss was soft, sweet-almost tentative. But then, Jungkook dropped his brush, one hand finding its way to Taehyung's neck while the other gripped the back of his shirt, pulling him closer. Taehyung's hands cupped Jungkook's face, thumbs grazing over the paint marks on his cheeks.
The kiss deepened, slow yet passionate, as if they were pouring every unspoken word, every promise, and every ounce of love they held for each other into it. Time seemed to blur, the world outside their little bubble fading away entirely.
When they finally pulled apart, both of them were breathless, foreheads resting together as they tried to steady their hearts.
"Wow," Taehyung whispered, a dazed smile on his face. "If that's the reward for doing the dishes, I might volunteer for them every night."
