N A K S H A T R A
Yesterday was the night we slept together, like I've wished for. Today, When I was getting ready to go to work, He came, took the comb from my hand, made me turn towards him and pulled me into a soft yet dominant kiss. When we pulled out, he kissed my forehead. “You look stunning in this Saree Wifey!” He said, pulling me close by my waist more than I already was. I nodded, trying my best to hide my smile, but failed successfully. He then took the Sindoor from my side and applied it in my hairline. “You're coming with me. I applied a leave for today in your Hospital!” He said, and I was confused. “Are but...” he made me shut with his kiss, scooping me up in his arms, going towards his car. We sat inside his can and after about an hour of driving, we reached to a place, so heavenly. It had flowers all over. Like a farm or something, and near this was a forest kinda thing. “Why did you bring me here?” I asked. “Because I wanted to make our Last meeting a bit special!” last meeting, what does it mean? “I'm divorcing you Nakshatra!” He said. “Remember when we were coming to my house after our marriage, I said, we will give each other a chance but if we find our partner, we can divorce each other.” He continued. “And guess what...” “What?” I asked my voice a bit shaky as tears built in my eyes. “I found my true love!” He grinned. He cupped my face but I backed off. “No doubt Nakshatra you were my healing past. But she... She will be my better half, my forever!” Love was clearly visible in his eyes. Again, he loved a girl who wasn't me. I couldn't— “Here are the Divorce papers, read them before signing them!” he was smiling with tears all the time. I brought the papers in front of my eyes so that he couldn't see my tears. Ngl, the papers were everything but Divorce papers. Shrugging it, I began to read.
“Firstly, I'm sorry Nakshatra for hurting you, I didn't want to and would never I swear to God.
Thank you, thank you for staying by my side everytime, thank you for understanding me when Khushi came, Thank you for coming into my life, thank you for becoming my wife.
Thank you. Thank you so much. You made my life upside down Nakshatra, and now I don't want a life without you.
You were the most beautiful thing ever happened to me. You are so awesome, I'll name it and your name will be there! I am proud of myself that I've chosen you, that I've chosen us.
And trust me Nakshatra, you deserve everything best in this world.
Nakshatra, I may not promise a perfect love, I may not be a perfect husband, but I will promise you A love that grows deep with time, a husband who is trying to be perfect for his wife, who is more than just a wife to him.
Nakshatra, with all the pros and cons I have, will all the insecurity I have, with all the pain I gave you, with every flaw, every mistake, will you chose me, will you choose us? The way I have choosen you?
I'm even ready to listen a no from you, if you promise that you'll love me one day the way I love you, if you promise me that you will always adore me the way I do...”
The moment I removed the papers from my eyes, I saw him kneeling down in front of me, holding a pen in his hand. My eyes filled with tears. I couldn't help but cry..i just...
As I held the papers in my hands, my vision blurred with tears. His words, each one carefully written, wrapped around my heart, squeezing it until I could barely breathe. I traced my fingers over the ink, feeling the weight of every emotion behind them.
I swallowed hard, trying to steady my trembling hands before I flipped the paper over. He wanted my answer. My response.
Taking a deep breath, I picked up the pen and, with my heart pounding in my chest, I began to write.
