A D H W I T
“What is my Baccha doing?” I said coming down from the stairs. “Adhwit... Can you please stop??” She whined. I chuckled. “As you wish mi pequeña triviesa!” “Stop giving me random nicknames, it makes me wet fucker!” “Woah, Woah, that was too straightforward!” i threw my hands in the air. She's been sitting on the couch from past few hours, choosing some random channels. She took a leave from her hospital, or maybe her hospital didn't need her rn. I sat beside her and she snuggled into me instantly, tears rolling down her eyes. “Baccha? Nakshatra what happened? Why are you crying love? Is everything okay?” I asked cupping her face. “Why do you love me so much Adhwit?”
I couldn’t help but smile—how could I ever explain something so infinite, so deeply ingrained in every part of my soul?
“Mi pequeña traviesa,” I began, the words rolling off my tongue like they were meant for her alone. |𝓶𝔂 𝓵𝓲𝓽𝓽𝓵𝓮 𝓶𝓲𝓼𝓬𝓱𝓲𝓮𝓿𝓸𝓾𝓼 𝓸𝓷𝓮| She didn’t realize that even her chaos was a kind of beauty to me.
“How could I not? You’re my sunshine when the world feels cold, my luna llena in the darkest nights.” |𝓯𝓾𝓵𝓵 𝓶𝓸𝓸𝓷| I saw her lips curve slightly at that, the way she always did when I called her my moon.
“You’re the chaos I crave and the peace I never knew I needed. My corazón, my everything.” |𝓱𝓮𝓪𝓻𝓽|
I reached out, brushing a strand of her hair away, letting my fingers linger there, memorizing the softness of her skin.
“You’re my estrella brillante, the star that guides me, my sol eterno, the light that never fades. My amor eterno.” |𝓼𝓱𝓲𝓷𝓲𝓷𝓰 𝓼𝓽𝓪𝓻. 𝓮𝓽𝓮𝓻𝓷𝓪𝓵 𝓼𝓾𝓷. 𝓮𝓽𝓮𝓻𝓷𝓪𝓵 𝓵𝓸𝓿𝓮.|
My voice softened, the words becoming a vow. “Every moment with you feels like a stolen dream, a gift I don’t deserve but treasure with everything I am.”
I leaned closer, resting my forehead against hers, closing the distance between us as if it could erase her doubt.
“So don’t ever ask me why, mi reina, mi cielo.” |𝓶𝔂 𝓺𝓾𝓮𝓮𝓷, 𝓶𝔂 𝓱𝓮𝓪𝓿𝓮𝓷.| “Loving you isn’t a choice—it’s simply who I am.”
Without another word, I tilted her chin gently, my lips meeting hers in a soft kiss, a silent promise that my love for her would never need an explanation. Just then I remembered something. “Nakshtra, if possible, please call everyone!” She nodded, calling our family at once. “You made it easier for me to love you more, Love!” I said and she smiled, giving me a peck.
“Hello beta, kesi h tu?” Asked maa, bringing her in a hug. I smiled at them. Papa came and brought me into a warm hug! “I'm sorry beta, I understood you wrong. Thank you... Thank you for staying by my daughter, thank you for healing her. Thank you for giving me my Daughter back!” His eyes had tears. “Papa...” I began softly. “Your daughter is not only my wife, she's my whole world, she's what I wish to be my side no matter what, she's what I can Define love...
And you don't have to thank me. It was my duty as an husband to heal her, to reciprocate the care she gave me once!” I said and he smiled. “We made a right choice!” Maa spoke this time, and my attention went towards Nakshatra, she was holding baby Adira in her hands, shushing her cries. I smiled. “Okay, so I've called you here for a truth!” I said grabbing everyone's attention. “Follow me!” I took them to a room which was locked for years, because I didn't have the courage to open it again. But now...
I opened the door, only to see my Dadu and dadi's photos hanging on the wall. “They are Mr. Adhiraj Agnihotri, my dadu, and his wife, Mrs. Meera Adhiraj Agnihotri ” I said, everyone being confused. Too obvious. “Our family was never how it looks now!” I said, more likely explaining Nakshatra. “Me, my papa, maa, Chacha, chachi, dadu dadi, and Aishwarya; everyone lived in this house with love. My dadu was a Self made businessman, my father and uncle, didn't show any interest in his business, so he decided to Give his property, his company to his friend's son, who became an orphan and was taken care by dadu. My father and uncle had no objection with it, he was okay with his professor career and uncle was a HOD of the textile company.
Untill one day, When my dadi's biggest enemy, offered Both of them one crore rupees and an individual company to both of them if they successfully paralys my dadu. My dadu would always say that his sons were a thing to be proud of. They can not be brought. But nothing remained same, the clock ticket and everything turned upside down. They both became too greedy to see what their father did for them and they decided to poison it, but my dadu got to know about their plan, and he was so hurt by them that he had an heart attack the very night, and dadi couldn't recover from the shock, and died eventually; but not before telling me the truth, and I vowed myself that I will never go back to them. I was just 12 at that very moment. I was so traumatized with the sudden death of them, that I isolated myself in this house for 3 months, I'd just try to cook, but one day, I turned my hand brutally with boiling water, and that day, I decided to step out, and earn for myself. I wandered 4 weeks for work, for food but found none.
So, I decided to end up my life... There was a lake, where me and dadu would always go, so I decided to End my life, b.. but... I saw Papa and Maa saw me and Papa jumped into the lake and saved me. I was shivering and yelling at him for saving me, but, his words shook me from the core, when I told him my condition. “Beta, if you cannot find the way, that never ment there is not any. There are people in conditions worst than you, but... They are surviving, they are trying. Ending your life is never a solution. You know, If your in darkness, which means light is on it's way. And till then...” He says giving me ten thousand Rupees. “Start a business with them!” He says tapping my cheek. “You just have to keep swimming to reach the shore, you don't have to stay in the water, and then expect ther you'll stay afloat forever!” He said before walking off.
Papa, did you and your daughter take the responsibility to heal me. You healed me when I was hopeless, and your daughter healed me, when I was helpless... Thank you... Thank you for...” I couldn't continue my scentence, and burst into tears, just then maa hugged me. “W.. was it y.. you?” Papa asked, and I nodded crying...
