A D H W I T

One week had passed since Holi, and things had settled into a routine. Nakshatra had been going to the hospital daily, while I busied myself at Oberoi Enterprises. Aishwarya, Isha, and Shreesh were still staying at our place, filling the house with endless chatter and laughter.

But something was missing.

Or rather, someone.

I leaned back in my chair, watching Nakshatra from across the breakfast table. She was lost in her thoughts, stirring her coffee absentmindedly. I cleared my throat, making her look up.

"You should join the office again."

She blinked at me, then sighed. "Adhwit..."

"I feel bored after not seeing you for ten straight hours," I cut her off, smirking. "And I also have an important meeting."

She narrowed her eyes. "I have work too, Adhwit."

I leaned forward. "Come with me. After the meeting, we'll go on a date."

That caught her attention. She tilted her head, studying me, before exhaling in defeat. "Fine."

I smirked in victory.

As soon as we reached Oberoi Enterprises, Nakshatra took over my office like she owned the place. She called Arsh in and, with a sweet yet firm voice, handed him a task.

"You're free, right?" she asked.

Arsh hesitated before nodding. "Yes, ma'am."

Nakshatra gestured toward the office TV. "Go watch a movie or something."

Arsh blinked in surprise before chuckling. "Thank you, ma'am."

I scoffed. "Ma'am?"

Nakshatra threw me a playful glare. "What? It's called manners, Adhwit."

Before I could respond, the door swung open.

Ashwit Narayan Mishra walked in.

His gaze barely flickered toward me before settling on Nakshatra. And he didn't look away.

I clenched my jaw.

"Adhwit Oberoi," he greeted, but his eyes were still fixed on my wife.

I leaned back in my chair, masking my irritation. "You're late."

Ashwit's lips curled into a smirk as he took a seat. "Had an important deal to consider." His gaze shifted to me, sharp and calculating. "Speaking of deals, I have an offer for you."

I already didn't like where this was going.

He leaned forward. "Sell me your wife."

Silence.

Nakshatra stiffened beside me. Even Arsh, who had been quietly watching the movie, sat up straight, his face hardening.
