Broken Promises (Kaname x Reader)

Cross.....Academy?

A/N- Wow... People are already reading this story that I only published today, and it's the only story I have on here.... This is crazy! I feel really accomplished... oddly enough

Light hit my eyelids, causing me to wake. Groaning, I try to put my hand over my eyes to block it, but my body wouldn't listen to me. I was sore, really sore. I can only imagine what type of beating Rido gave me to leave effects like this. I use all the strength I have left to try and crack my eyes open, it was a slow and painful process but I managed. I looked around and was greeted to bright white walls, and I was laying in a bed with white sheets. Bandages covered my arms, and one was wrapped around my head and my left eye. 

I tried to remember what happened, and the memories flashed painfully in my mind. Blood. Stone. Screams. Glass.... and finally ice cold water and darkness.... that's right... I escaped from Rido by jumping through the window landing in the water and the current was a lot stronger then i expected, knocking me out against some rocks...

Slowly I peeled the thin sheets off my body and swung my legs over the side. I wasn't in my old blood stained and probably torn clothes, instead, I wore an ugly hospital robe. I looked around trying to find anything else to wear and I found some clothes that were neatly folded on a chair across the room. I took my time retrieving them and was cautious as I got dressed, but not before I checked to make sure no one was anywhere near the door with my enhanced hearing.

I slipped on the white long sleeved white shirt and pulled the skirt up, finishing by tying the crimson tie into a bow. (I'm bad at explaining so look at the picture if you don't know what the Night class's female Outfit looks like)

Finally satisfied with the outfit, I go back and make the bed i was previously in as well as neatly folding the robe that smelt horribly of hand sanitizer and leaving it on the bed. Leaving the room, I try to make as little noise as possible. Many large windows line the wall opposite to me and the sun is high up in the sky. I feel my jaw drop slightly a the sight. 

"It's beautiful..." I couldn't help but mumble that to myself

"I see you're awake~" I snap my head to the side to see the source of the voice, a man with long blonde hair in a ponytail and glasses smiles brightly at me. I feel myself relax a little at the warm atmosphere that surrounds him. 

"Why not come with me and we can talk in my office?" He's still smiling at me, but his eyes softened as he looked at me.

"O-Okay... um...?" I'm pretty unsure of this man, but I feel comfortable around him.

"Oh! My name's Kaien Cross, I'm the Headmaster of this academy."  He came closer to me and held his hand out to me, I starred at his hand fr a few seconds before carefully placing my hand in his.

"I'm (Y/N)... Nice to meet you Mr.Cross." He smiled at me brighter but no matter how much I looked at it I couldn't find it in myself to smile as well.

"No need for the formalities, call me Kaien. Come, let's go." He released my hand and started walking with me following closely behind.

After a few minutes, we reach what I assume is his office. He opens the door and I follow him to his desk which he sits behind.

"Take a sit." Not wanting to test my limits, I do as he says.

"So, (Y/N), how are you feeling?" I shifted my gaze to my hands where they rested on my lap

"I'm alright, thank you Mr.- er..... K-Kaien..." I internally cursed myself for stuttering and sounding so broken and weak. I balled my hands into fists on my lap but I didn't look up. He hesitated for a moment before continuing.

"i'm sure you have many questions, but first can you tell me why you were passed out on a shore bank with such injuries?" I thought about it for a moment, I can't trust him completely... for all I know he could be acting and next thing he'll kill me or worse... Send me back to Rido..I didn't answer for a minute, carefully choosing the words I was going to say.

"I... fell into a really strong current in the ocean. I didn't expect it to be that strong, and as it was sweeping me away I smashed my head against some rocks under the water. Leaving me unconscious." I wasn't really lying, I did fall in the water... after I jumped out a window. I can only hope while they were bandaging me up they didn't find any glass.

"Oh... I meant to ask..." I finally met his gaze and tilted my head to the side slightly. 

"Where am I?" He jumped up from his chair and came rushing to my side, making me jump and nearly fall out of the chair.

"You're at Cross Academy~! A lot of other vampires go to school here in the Night Class, and the Day students are normal Humans. I built this school to try and smooth out that line between humans and vampires, and you're our newest student~!" He's eyes sparkled as he said that last part.

Silence.

"....What?"
