The encounter seemed to last for minutes, into hours
His head tilted to the side, smile faltering. In that moment he seemed more animal then anything. I remembered those poor Vampires turned against their will, Level E. He kept them around for his amusement. Even though they have an endless thirst for blood, they still whimpered and trembled in front of him. There had even been a time he brought me to watch a sport that he and other Vampires gathered to watch, a place where not even the wind dared a breath. They would place bets on who would win in an area, level E's who have been starved of blood for weeks left to rip each other to shreds.
Yet as I looked at him he seemed different. Even tame, perhaps.
slowly, he inched towards me, and just as slowly his mouth carved back into that wicked grin.
Then he stopped.
He turned his head in another direction, ignoring me completely.
"You and me..... same." warily, i watched the child glance back at me then whip towards an unseen path.
"No hurt.... help mama... Thirsty." He ran off, towards a new place of interest. I just stared after him. Once he was out of sight, my muscles relaxed. Inhaling deeply, I nearly chocked on the overwhelming stench of my blood mixed with sweat and salt from the tears just beginning to dry from my face. The child had spoken in broken words, struggling with the sounds to communicate. Shaking my head, I tried to clear the darkened edges of my vision before slowly using the wall to bring me back to my feet.
I hissed at the pain that laced up my leg in protest, but I needed a safe place and if i waited here too long I'd attract more attention then I wanted.
~Time skip~
It hurt. Oh gods it hurt.
This was a new pain, Rido might've loved breaking me but this... this effect from Vampire Hunting weapons was miserable. My leg had stopped healing, the blood didn't stop flowing either. it still dribbled down my gut and leg, making a trail for anyone to find me.Growling at the thought, I pushed through the idea and focused on putting one foot in front of the other and breathing. It was becoming increasingly difficult. I spared a glance at my leg and cursed.
The skin around it had become pink, the swelling only getting worse. I was shaking now, sweat pouring off my body as I tried my best to keep moving. If I stopped now, I'd stop for good. I couldn't see where I was going, couldn't focus. The buildings around me turned to distorted blotches of colour. The ringing in my ears getting louder until i could no longer even hear my feet scrapping along to cobblestone street.
Breathe, Breathe, Breathe
a black blur appeared in the corner of my eye, and I stopped.
Too much energy lost, not enough time. Keep. Moving.
But I couldn't
I turned my head toward the black space, feeling as though my mind was swimming in molasses. It was closer now, a small tug on my arm. A sound of muddled words reached my ears, but I couldn't understand them. Another tug on my arm, harder, urgent. But I couldn't move. The darkness no longer being content to sit on the edge of my vision swallowed me whole, cold hands dragging me farther and farther into unconsciousness
