Broken Promises (Kaname x Reader)

Why me...?

I woke up feeling warm.... I didn't remember what happened but I assumed I fell asleep, Aido is pretty boring when he acts high and mighty. I slowly sat up and my muscles worked against me, protesting to the movement.

I looked around when I finally got upright in a sitting position. White walls, Comfy bed, No clothes... on...

I quickly pulled the bed sheet up to cover myself. What the hell?!

I resisted the urge to look under the sheets.... I was still in my bra and underwear... but the ugly scars across my body gave me nothing more then a sense of hatred. I knew they were there, and they would never leave.

I took a deep breath, closing my eyes and calmed my emotions, quickly putting out the flame of anger before I froze my room.

I slowly crept out of my bed, making my way over to my closet for a new fresh school uniform. I found myself limping slightly and I looked down at my left leg. A burn mark went up to my knee and was in the process of healing, I narrowed my eyes at the wound. Scorched wood marked where my foot met the floor, I followed the path with my eyes back to the other side of my room where it stops at my bed.

Slowly I make my way over, uniform forgotten. The sent of burned wood became stronger as time passed, making it over to my bed I carefully move the sheets. There's a clear burn mark eating a hole through the white fabric and where I had laid before was a black, smoking mark upon my mattress.

I closed my eyes and pinched the bridge of my nose.

"My powers sure have rotten timing of of awakening...." Sighing heavily I looked down at my body, burns outlined my bra and my underwear covered little more then they needed to as they were burned to near ash.

I went to work quickly as I realized it wouldn't take long for another vampire to come seeking out this awful stench. Changing into more appropriate undergarments, I got a new uniform on careful to avoid my burnt leg. I took the sheet off the bed and threw it into the shower in my personal bathroom attached to my room. I opened the window and was greeting by the mid day sun.

Now would be a perfect time to go see the headmaster, but first....

Going to the mattress I put my hand under and grab the note that Ruto gave me a few weeks before. Stuffing it in my pocket I make my way to the door, I was about to walk out when a sound caught my attention.

Turning back towards the room, I saw a small blood red bird perched on the window sill. A piece of paper attached to its leg with a blue ribbon. Closing the door I make my way over to it, the bird didn't move an inch as I got closer. Cautiously, I pulled lightly on the ribbon and took off the paper.

Neat writing adorned the page.

Husband?!? Fuck no!! My sister and brother? He can't be serious... They are long dead. I'm broken from my thoughts by a pain filled caw.
I look up to the bird to see it withering in pain before it falls to the floor, dead.

"Charming as always I see...."

Quickly throwing the bird out the window as much as it grossed me out... I turned on my heel and made my way to the headmasters office.

I knocked softly on the headmasters door and I heard a quiet "Come In."

Upon entering the headmaster looked up and beamed a bright warm smile at me and it took a lot of my willpower to not shield my eyes

"Oh, (Y/N)! What a lovely surprise, I don't usually get to see the vampires during the day. What can I help you with?" His expression reminded me of a certain 5 year old on Christmas morning.

"Actually headmaster.... I would like to have a serious conversation with you, and I would like it never to be repeated." After I finished his smile intently dropped and he seemed to come to full attention to what I was saying.

"Alright, come take a seat."

So I did.... As the days went past it was becoming increasingly difficult to hide my true identity, especially with the damage now done to my room. I explained a small part of my past leaving out Rido's name and description, saying I was being hunted by another vampire who once held me captive. I told him the vital parts, leaving out the notes I've been getting.

He didn't speak the whole time, just listened intently. By the end he promised not to speak a word, but he insisted I stay at the academy for my own protection.

"I'm not sure if I'm able to.... If he is to show his face I need to run. He is only coming here for me, I cant put this academy in danger for something as insignificant as that." I was trying to keep my cool but at the same time I was getting increasingly worried... What would he do if he got me again? What if he wasn't lying and somehow my family was alive...? Even though I swear they died.... Pure bloods are very persistent as Rido is showing me.

"Don't think you're able to what?" My head snapped to look at the door as a silky voice reached my ears and I all but seethed.

"Kaname."
