Or Is It A Curse?

I woke up with my alarm clock ringing at 8:00 in the morning. I turned it off and ran to my closet grabbing my suitcase. Jazmin ran in my room from the guest room.

"This is going to be the best 5 days of my life." Jazmin said falling on my bed. I laughed and shut my closet door changing into an oversized sweater, some skinny jeans that barely fit anymore, and a scarf wrapped securely around my neck. I've been waiting for this day for a whole entire month now. It's finally Christmas break and we are all going on a camping trip. Sadly Allison is going to be there and she is bringing the worst person on the face of the earth. Tatiana Hale. She is terrible.

*Flash back*

I walked into the familiar classroom that I have been attending to for the past month. My teacher Mrs. Lockwood was assigning us new seats since we all were talking to the people next to us. "Alright, second row is Dean, Savannah, Tatiana, Will, Kyle, and Alexandria." I sat in my new seat right in between Dean and Tatiana.

"Wow sitting next to each other for the second time in a row. Maybe it's fate." Dean whispered in my ear as we sat down. I rolled my eyes and scooted to the opposite direction of him.

"Or maybe it's a curse." I said softly under my breath.

"Oh, hey. You're Savannah, right?" that Tatiana girl asked. I nodded my head and gave her a questioning look as to why she knew my name.

"How do you know my name?" I asked with an insecure tone.

"Oh, who doesn't know your name? You're the talk of the school. You know, being neighbors with Ryan Kayne and all." how did she know I was neighbors with Ryan? Now I'm kinda terrified.

"Wow. Everyone knows where I live? Man, I might as well wear my security number on my forehead." She giggled annoyingly putting her hand over her heart. She stopped and looked at me with an amused smile still on her face. "It wasn't that funny." I mumbled quietly so she didn't hear me.

"You're funny. We should hang out sometime. Here's my number." I took it hesitantly and put it in my pocket. I nodded my head and smiled quickly before turning around to listen to the teacher.

2 weeks later.

I lead Tatiana in my house and left to go get some water from the fridge. When I got back to the living room she was gone and the door was wide open. I walked outside to go look for her and she was standing in Ryan's garage laughing and flirting with him. I should have known that was why she was being so nice to me.

"You're friends with Tatiana?" Ryan asked me with amusement in his eyes.

"I thought I was, but now I'm not sure anymore." she turned to me with a smirk on her evil face and started chuckling viciously.

"You didn't actually believe that I would ever be friends with you, Did you?" I looked down with tears swelling up in my eyes. She started laughing and said, "You did! Well just for future reference no one will be genuinely friends with you as long as you are neighbors with him." She turned back around and started talking to Ryan about how hot he is. I wiped my tears away and rolled my eyes running back into my house and locking the door shut. I slid down the door and cried there for a while.

I shook my head out of the flashback and opened up my closet door revealing an empty room. "Jaz, where did you go?" I yelled through the house. There was no answer. I then heard a honk coming from outside. I looked out my window and saw a big red suv with everyone getting situated inside of it for the trip all the way up to Julian. I smiled down at Ryan and waved to him. I grabbed my suitcase and went downstairs and out the door.

"Hey, baby girl." Ryan said engulfing me into a hug.

"Hey, Ry." he kissed my exposed shoulder and then pulled away.
