"Why do we have to stay here" Reign asks before crossing his arms. He and Remy have been extra whiny today.

"Because I said so" I answer before sighing and rubbing my forehead with my fingers.

We're going to visit Malakai and Alexander at the hospital today. Arianna went to sleep over last night so we'll collect her as well.

Although something felt off last night with my princess, especially when she hugged. It felt as if she never wanted to let go.

She has been through a lot recently especially after getting kidnapped and witnessing Santiago get shot.

The car accident has also had a massive effect on all of us. Francesco and Alessandro have been working none stop, searching for any leads. But we all know the only bastard that could pull this off is Anotaly.

"Alonzo please, watch them" I ask my second oldest son who's stood in a pink apron. He really is something.

"Of course" Alonzo replies before slapping the back of both the twins, hard.

"Ouch"

"That hurt you pink apron wearing asshole" both the twins say at the same time. At least they're back to their normal selves.

I watch as Lorenzo rolls his eyes before turning round and walking out the front door. I guess that's my cue as well.

"See you later" I utter to my sons before following Lorenzo to one of his cars.

Even though I am the current don, Lorenzo is more of a leader than I'll ever be and that's how I raised him to be. He even scares me sometimes.

Arianna and the boys are more scared of him than they are of me. I must admit I gave up on being a strict father when the twins were born. Since then they only got more spoilt, apart from Arianna. She wasn't a brat or anything of the sorts, she was always an angel compared to her brothers.

She definitely got her demeanour from my other half, Eleanor. Not a day goes by when I don't think about her. I love her to this day, I love her smile and her laugh, her long brown hair, her humour, her kindness. I'll never forget anything about her.

I will always hate myself for not being able to protect her that day. We were in the middle of a war with the Russians yet I let her leave the house alone to take Arianna to see a play but how, how could I say no to my wife or my daughter.

"Dad are you okay" Lorenzo's voice brings me out of my own thoughts. I look across to see Lorenzo staring at me with a concerned look. Only then do I notice how he hasn't started the car.

"Im okay son, just thinking about your mother" I answer smiling sadly at my eldest. My heart always breaks for my children, having to grow up without their mother.

Lorenzo continues to stare at me for a few seconds before his eyes become glossy however by that point he turns away and starts the car.

"It's been a while" he mumbles before driving off down the driveway.
