Angie:

The next morning, I woke up to see something that'd put a smile on anyone's face. Maria was curled into Mac's side, completely oblivious of it too. Mac was awake as well, and carefully wrapped an arm around her. She squirmed slightly. Mac leaned down, and gave the top of her head a small kiss.

"Mornin' baby." He murmured. Just like that, Maria started quivering, and I heard small sobs escaping her. Mac immediately let her go, and scooted away, a look of hurt in his eyes. But instead of scooting to me, Maria started scooting over to Mac, until she was laying on top of him with her arms wrapped around him. Tears were rolling down her cheeks, onto Mac's chest. Hesitantly, Mac draped and arm over her back.

"I'm sorry!" She wailed. "I don't want you gone again! I love you, Daddy!"

Mac smiled slightly, and gave the top of her head a small kiss. "I know you don't baby. I love you too." He mumbled. Maria continued crying.

"I'm a meanie! I'm a meanie! I'm sorry! I'm sorry!" She kept repeating until Mac sat up. She looked up at him, tears running down her cheeks.

"You're not a meanie, hon. I know I was scary before." He mumbled, wiping her tears away.

She buried herself into his chest again, letting her tears soak into his shirt. He rocked her back and forth, while I smiled at them.

Maria had finally forgiven her father. I smiled.

Everything was falling into place.
