The following weeks were nothing short of a whirlwind for Bea. Between coordinating D.A. meetings and leading Quidditch practices, her schedule was packed from dawn until curfew. Yet, despite the constant rush, she thrived in the chaos, finding satisfaction in the steady progress on both fronts.
D.A. was going brilliantly. Everyone had shown immense improvement, even those who had struggled initially. The basics like Expelliarmus and the Stunning Spell were becoming second nature to most of the group. They'd advanced to the Impediment Jinx and, more recently, the Reductor Curse. It was a challenge, particularly for the younger students, but Bea could see their determination, and that made the effort worthwhile.
Coordinating D.A. meetings around her Quidditch practices, however, was another story. With Hufflepuff's first match looming, she was spending hours fine-tuning their plays and ensuring her team was prepared for anything. Managing it all might have felt impossible if not for Hermione, who had come up with an ingenious method to keep everyone on the same page.
Using old Galleons, Hermione charmed them to display the date and time of the next D.A. meeting. The spellwork was so intricate that the coins even warmed slightly as a reminder when the meeting approached. Bea had been awestruck by the idea.
— This, — Bea had said after Hermione showed her the prototype in the library late one evening, — is absolutely genius. You're absolutely genius. —
Hermione had blushed under the praise but tried to wave it off. — It's practical — she said modestly.
Bea leaned in closer, lowering her voice to a teasing murmur. — No, it's brilliant. You're brilliant. And I adore you for it. —
The kisses that followed had been more than just grateful, filled with warmth and affection, they left Hermione smiling for the rest of the night.
Finally, the day of the first Quidditch match of the season arrived: Gryffindor vs. Slytherin. For once, Bea wasn't playing, as Hufflepuff's first match was scheduled for the following week. She didn't mind. It gave her a chance to observe both teams closely, analyzing their plays, strengths, and weaknesses in preparation.
Bea arrived at the pitch early, bundled against the cold, a Slytherin scarf snug around her neck, she was supporting her Brother, who played as a chaser in Slutherin's team. The stands were already buzzing with excitement, students waving their house banners and chattering loudly. She spotted her friends, Hannah, Susan, Leanne and Justin, saving her a spot high in the stands, but before joining them, she caught sight of Hermione walking toward her, a Gryffindor scarf wrapped loosely around her neck.
— You look like you've been up for hours, — Hermione teased, falling into step beside Bea.
— I have, — Bea admitted with a grin. — Had to go over strategy with my team before breakfast. But today, I'm just here to enjoy the show.—
