Mikael's POV

So it turns out that mum is getting married in three months with Joseph. Good for him, I read his mind and found out that he's a decent guy and has good intentions with my mum. Gabriela bonded with mum, Georgia and Joseph easily. She's going to be a bridesmaid and all.

We returned home three days ago and right now the lads and I are watching a football (soccer) match between USA and Spain and the girls are just talking in the kitchen about God knows what.

"YES!!!" Nate shouted when Spain scored a goal.

"Don't get too excited, its just the beginning." Matt says smirking. If you were wondering, he roots for USA.

They started bantering about which team is the best and I stood up to go check up on Gabriela. I get to the kitchen and she was nowhere to be seen.

"Excuse me ladies, but where's Gaby?" I ask to no one in particular.

"Oh. She went to the backyard to answer a call." Patricia told me and I nodded as a thank you and made my way to the backyard.

"...I understand. Thank you so much for this opportunity. I'll be there on Friday. Have a nice day. Bye." She hangs up smiling and jumps excitedly. I walk up to her and when she sees me, her eyes widen a little in surprise.

"H-hi babe! What's up?" She asks nervously.

"Tell me." I demand using my Alpha voice and I can see slight fear in her eyes which makes me sad that she fears me, but I push those thoughts away and focus on her telling me what was that all about.

"Uh. Remember the book I'm writing?"

"Yeah. What about it?"

"Well, I just got a call from the company and they want to publish it and make a movie or TV Series about it. So they want me to fly to LA this Friday to discuss it and I already said yes..." She mumbled the last part.

"Why did you said yes before talking to me first?! This is a big deal!" I yell at her.

"I know! I got caught in the moment! This is a huge opportunity! A once in a lifetime kind of thing! I just had to take it!" She yells back.

"You're not going and that's final." I tell her and turn around and make my way in the house.

Gabriela's POV

Like hell I won't go. After that, there's no way I'm not going.

The next day, Mikael had an important pack meeting and I took the opportunity and got started on my packing. I already called dad and I'll be staying with him during the trip. I packed one bag and a big backpack with everything needed. I had my car brought here from LA weeks ago, so I go out and put all my stuff in the trunk. I should be leaving today if I want to get there by Friday. Today is Wednesday, so I better get moving. I grab a piece of paper and write a note to Mikael.

Hey. I know you're very mad with me right now, but I had to do it. This is my dream. It has been ever since I learned how to read and write. It'll be just one week. I'll be back before you know it.

I take the note and leave it on the bed. I grab my purse and keys, lock the house, get in my car and drive away.

I parked in front of my old house and dad is waiting for me with Frank right outside. They're talking about something that looks very important since they haven't noticed me yet. I step out of my car and walk up to them.
