Chapter 33

Gabriela's POV

I opened my eyes and all I saw was darkness. I wasn't chained, but I couldn't move. It didn't took long for me to guess that I'm inside in a coffin like object and that I'm in a boat.

"LET ME OUT! LET ME OUT!!! HELP!!! ANYONE!!!" I yelled at the top of my lungs and a few seconds later, there was this weird smell, like some kind of gas. I tried moving the box I was in, but in minutes I lost consciousness yet again.

When I woke up, I was in a chair in the middle of a giant ballroom, like the ones from a castle. I look more closely around me and notice a circle of around fifty people around me staring at me without blinking. I look in front of me a see René with another man standing next to him.

"Good morning sleeping beauty. Or should I say good afternoon?" René said walking towards me while the man that was standing next to him just stared at me.

"Why...why are you doing this? I haven't done anything to you or any of them. I don't even know any of you!" I told him and he reached his hand towards me and started playing with a loose strand of my hair.

"Because of your mother Gabriela. She's the reason why you're here tied up in that chair."

"What about my mom? What does she have to do with any of this?!"

"Oh. You don't know then. Well, guess I get to tell you a story. Here I go." He says and sits on a chair in front of me.

"Once upon a time, nineteen years ago, there was this woman called Anastasia. She had long wavy light brown hair, green eyes, tempting lips and her skin was as soft as a baby's. She was one of the guardians of the werewolf race. One night there was this man fighting against an unusual kind if creature in the woods. She was watching them fight as part of her assignment, she would only intervene if it were absolutely necessary and/or if the werewolf were fighting a creature from another race, and then the man transformed into a wolf. He bit the other creature and this one screamed in pain. Seconds later, more creatures arrived and fought against the wolf. Anastasia quickly descended to the human realm and helped the wolf fight those creatures. Once they all died, she and the man looked at each other and a sparkle was ignited. They bonded for months, seeing each other secretly and it turns out that they were mates. Then she asked permission to take some vacations and they were granted. She and the werewolf lived together in a small house and in just months, she got pregnant. Nine months later, the baby was born, but it was dead. So Anastasia requested to be left alone with the baby girl. An hour or so later, the baby was alive and Anastasia was dead. No one knows exactly what happened in there, but one thing is certain. If it weren't for the baby, Anastasia would still be alive." He says and a tear falls down from my eyes.

So my mom is an angel and its my fault she's dead?!

"Tell me Gabriela, does this story seems familiar to you? Do you relate to it?"

"Why...why are you telling me this?" I ask shaking in anger, guilt and sadness.

"Because, you're that baby Gabriela. Your mother's sacrifice gave you life and many other gifts that me and other people wish to have."

"You're crazy! I don't have any powers! I'm just a regular girl!"

"Gabriela, we know it was you the one who killed those demons back in Canada. Anthony here saw you, he was the only one who escaped. Now, for a supernatural being to gain your gifts, it is necessary that we drink your blood. Unfortunately, this would last only 48 hours and then vanish. That's why from now on, you'll be staying with us. This is your new home Gabriela." He laughs and the familiar feeling returns and I break free from my handcuffs and push René away, but he's caught by Anthony.

"So it is true. She's the one!" Someone yells and they all start talking while René smirks at me. I turn around to run towards the exit, but something sharp is thrown at my right leg making me fall. I look at it and its a big dagger and I'm bleeding a lot very fast.

"AHH!!!" I yell when I pull it out. I look around me and see a few demons walking towards me showing me their fangs.

"I want to taste her blood now." A guy says.

"I bet its sweet." Another guys says.

"GRRR." A deep familiar growl is heard and I sigh in relief. Everyone turns in the direction of the growl and there he is, standing in a window, my boyfriend Mikael.

"MIKAEL!!!" I yell and stand up, but one of the demons pushed me back down. Mikael growled at her and ripped her head off in one second. They all transformed while others took out weapons and got ready to fight. I stood up once again and Mikael picked me up bridal style. The effects of blood loss started affecting me and I got light headed.

"Hey, hey! Don't fall asleep on me!" Mikael shouted at me and I obligued, but it was getting harder. Then a big hole was made in the ceiling and the familiar faces that saved me back in Canada are now descending with swords and other weapons whose name I don't quite know yet. I blinked and saw demons being decapitated or mutilated. I blinked again and a demon was launching at us, but Mikael punched it and Gabriel cut it in half. I blinked again and now Mikael and I were being lifted towards the sky along with Gabriel and the others.

"What's happening?" I ask Mikael who's staring at me and caressing my left cheek.

"Shh. You're safe now. We're going someplace safe." He tells me and kisses me.

Anastasia's POV

We took them both to the hospital section. He had a few cuts from the fight, but it wasn't as serious as my daughter. She had lost a lot of blood that Mikael and I both had to provide. They now both lie in the same bed Gabriela had layed on when we first brought her here. They're both on their left side and he's holding on to her like if his life depended on it. I remember when her father and I were like that, he couldn't get his hands off me for a second. *sigh* Once she wakes up, I'll have to tell her everything. I just hope that she will understand.
