Unravel

Like a ball of yarn
Unraveling in your fingers
Tangled between the gaps
And holes that form
Between my fingers
Between your understanding and mine
How to weave a blanket
I ask you
You say, "just grab your hooks"
What if I don't have any
Myself I weave
Back and forth back and forth
But I've no idea how to knit or crochet
I need to unravel myself first
I create a mess of yarn
Tangled in my own emotions
I reach out to you
Covered in yarn I laugh
"How did I end up in such a mess of myself?"
My emotions scattered everywhere
And yet,
I still find I can't feel them
Outside and out of reach
I wish I could be unraveled
