A request for @Sjiaia

Baba Chops trudged through Sushine Valley, her black wool getting wetter from the rain as she went. After failing to win DogDay's heart, instead DogDay choosing Bobby Bearhug over her, guilt about her methods of trying to do it had finally reached her.
"Why do I always have to be alone?" she said to herself. As if to answer, the sky let out a rumble of thunder and rain continued to pour down, bouncing on the lane and running into little streams.

Back at his house, Simon Smoke was thinking the same thing. He had no one to love since Crafty Corn went with CatNap before he could confess to her, and the other Nightmare Critters were reluctant to let him. When they finally agreed to let him confess, it was too late, so he'd headed home in sadness too. There was still one Critter he loved, though. Baba Chops. If he didn't love Crafty, he'd love Baba. After all, she couldn't have DogDay, and she was a Nightmare Critter, so she'd be a match for him. The problem was, for him, Baba would rarely leave her house. Her friends would eventually get her going, but the next day, she'd be right back to the same tune.

His house overlooked hers, and he hadn't bothered to go out. He'd assumed Baba was still in her house, and he used her bedroom as a way to see if she was in and to admire her from afar. He went over, intending to look at her now, but his expectant, infatuated smile turned into a worried look as he noticed Baba wasn't in her room. And if she wasn't in her room, she usually wasn't in her house.
"Oh no," Simon said.

The method that Baba had used to stop Bearhug winning DogDay's heart had almost killed her. While she was an opposite to the Smiling Critters, she didn't have it out for them in any way.
And her nicknames for the Critters, in this case Mama Bear, which was Bearhug's nickname she'd used, had snuffed out her former, and completely harmless night with DogDay. As she thought about it, the rain started to chill her bones. She couldn't get back to her house until it eased off, so she had to find somewhere to sit until it did.

She did, but her body was quivering violently. She felt her body tremble as the rain continued to pour.
"I'm sorry, DogDay! I'm sorry for everything!" Baba cried. It was very uncharacteristic of her to do that. She felt so alone, not having the other Nightmare Critters around to talk to her. Except one. She saw a familiar red dragon Critter find her, and he sat down next to her.
"Have you ever been in love?" Baba asked.
"Yes. I have," Simon answered. "And I am now."
"If I can ask, who is it?" Baba said.
"I'm looking right at her," Simon Smoke said, blushing. Baba's jaw dropped.
"You...l..love me?!" she gasped.
"Yes, Baba, I do? And I was wondering if maybe you'd want to...to...date sometime?" Simon said.
Baba's answer was a kiss. Simon's eyes bulged when he felt Baba kiss him, but as the shock eased a little, he closed his eyes and softly kissed her lips in return, before they slowly pulled away, blushing in the deepest red colour they knew of.
"Of course I will! DogDay's dating Bobby Bearhug, so I'm down for that. Are you?" Baba asked.
"If you'll have me," Simon replied.
"How dare you ask that," Baba said. "There's nothing else I want more right now more than you," before they both kissed again, the rain continuing on, just like their love.
